Inverurie /ɪn.vəˈrʊəri/ (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Uraidh or Inbhir Uaraidh, "mouth of the River Ury") is a Royal Burgh and town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the confluence of the rivers Ury and Don, about 16 miles (26 km) north west of Aberdeen on the A96 road and is served by Inverurie railway station on the Aberdeen to Inverness Line. The nearest airport is Aberdeen Airport at Dyce.

Good signage from A96 roundabout near Morrisons store at Inverurie. However the distance from here is around 10 minutes drivecto the car park. The car park could hold around 5 cars but due to poor parking only 3 on this occasion. We needed to park on the roadside, not ideal. From the car park walk up the road saying farm access only. It is a 5 minute gentle walk up a largely tarmac road and a short gravel track to the circle. The stone circlecis fenced off and accessed through a kissing gate. The area is grassed. There is an information board. A good time to visit is ghe evening. Lovely countryside views and walks aign posted in the area although we did not do these.

We eventually found the stone. Google maps suggests it's in the grpunds of Pitroddie House. If you follow the signs off the A96 towards Chapel of Gairoch and Pittrodie House hotel you are heading in the right direction. However do not take the road to the hotel and Rowantree woodland walks. Just past this sign is a layby with parking for around 5 cars. You can see the stone from the layby. The walk is short along a narrow path. There is an excellent information board. The stone has very detailed carvings. Well worgh the visit.

Really excellent night out to celebrate my wife's 60th with family and friends. Very friendly welcome, some really tasty meals to kick off and then on to the bowling. Loads of fun for everyone, and outstandingly warm and helpful staff kept everything moving, serving drinks and so on. Thanks guys for a really super night out. Your welcome and hard work made it a super night for us all.

Garioch Heritage Centre opened in Inverurie in October 2017 and houses the collections of Garioch Heritage Society. The Society has been researching the area’s history and gathering artefacts which shed light on the working and domestic lives of local people since 1987. The Centre tells the story of life in the Garioch, from the early 20th century to the present day. The Centre sits in the renovated Inverurie Loco Works and keeps the memory of the Loco Works alive, all under the watchful eye of the original 20-ton crane. There is a gift shop, cafe and activities to amuse younger visitors. You can enjoy a guided tour by our experienced volunteers and hear their stories of growing up in the Garioch. Entry is £5 for adults and free for accompanied children.

Magnificent refurbishment of the old Loco Works has resulted in a brilliant new museum staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. The displays of Inverurie in the past accompanied by old photographs bring the history of the area to life, and a whole day could be spent just looking through the archives.
Well worth a visit.

Just had a wonderful couple of hours trying 5 different types of gin. Very informative re what tonics and fruit/herbs to have with them and where they are made and history of gin.
Time was taken over each gin and explained how to get the best out of it. The difference tastes in gin is really quite amazing.
They have a range of 90 gins in the store so a few more trips to try the remaining 85.
Good value for money and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Would recommend to eat before hand!

Please use the centre to help you access Bennachie, a beautiful mountain of 1700ft. Easy/medium walking routes and a little bit of climbing will reward you with fantastic views. Just another great place to go as a family, a couple or on your own in the Scottish summer. Take rain jackets!

Took my 9 year old and his friend, they had a fantastic time, make sure you book your slot online and also arrive 15 mins early for the safety video

We love stone circles so it was a real treat to come across this one. It is well labelled, even if the road was closed the day we were there, but bless her, a local neighbour helped us find it. It is worth taking a short detour to get here.

Set from the most elaborate Z-plan castle in Scotland, Castle Fraser was built between 1575 and 1636. The historic walled garden features shrubs, flowers, wall-trained fruit and vegetables. The estate contains a flight pond, mixed woodland and open farmland, with two waymarked walks giving magnificent views of the local hills.

This was an excellent experience my first time in a hot air balloon. The problem in this part of the UK is getting suitable weather conditions. and two of my booking had to be cancelled due to bad weather (high winds) But on 4th June with pilot Kate Holzer and crew the flight took place Clear blue sky, very smooth flight, excellent visibility, didn't even feel the bump on landing with balloon staying upright. Kate and crew were very professional people with an excellent knowledge of balloon flying they were all very friendly and the drinks after the flight went down well.
