Fazenda Yrere

At 30 minutes from Ilheus, you find this charming cocoa farm. Tour includes a forest walk, a chocolate talk and cocoa tasting under the cocoa trees, visit to orchid house and a wonderful Brazilian farm lunch. You can taste their homemade chocolate and also buy other brands (worth it as some of these tree to bar chocolates coming out of this region, are really good).
The place has a really nice atmosphere and everyone is really nice and friendly.

Sao Sebastiao Cathedral

The surrounding area is dirty, especially the steps area, and the square has almost no Seating. It lacks that atmosphere that makes you want to stay and savour the area. Popped in and I was done in 10 minutes.

Sul Beach

Reviewed By Cipriana0106 - Ilheus, BA

I love the Beaches in Ilheus, and they are basically divided into north, south and centre. The only beach in the centre is the praia do Cristo. The others are a little dangerous because there is almost no one there. In the south, which starts after the airport, the first Beaches are very dirty, especially the entrances and cabins and basically a no-no. Moving further towards the south, about 1-2 kilometres, you have some more decent cabins, although not by any luxury standards. People sometimes put the music too loud and some are expensive with regular service. If you have the time to walk along the beach and find your favourite cabin, the beach experience is a lot better. Ilhéus has to work harder to make the Beaches tourist-friendly.

Milionarios Beach

Reviewed By mrrlstephen - Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Long and sandy and busy on a Sunday. Weekdays, sometimes you can 100 metres to yourself. Sand is soft and clean with veru little seaweed. On the mainroad from which you reach it are some attractive looking restaurants. But Ilheus, unlike Porto Seguro or Transcoso does not really seem to be trying to be a tourist resort.

Norte Beach

Ilheus is a wonderful city, with lots of attractions for tourists. The Beaches are really beautiful, sand is white and the water is clear and clean. You can organize a package to visit other Beaches, which are farther and spectacular! It is really worthy visiting.

Centro Cultural Bataclan

I can't comment on any show because the night we went, there was none. But the food is terrible and very expensive for small, ill-prepared dishes. Total waste of time, money, and calories.

Canabrava Beach

Reviewed By Oscar N - Brasilia, DF

Shalow beach with reefs here and there, extended for several kilometers. The nature with myriad of palm trees is very pleasant. Ideal for strolling or running on the beach, and also playing in the water. Safe for young children. Prefer the morning or evening sun, because during the day it really burns.
