Was staying in the area for work, so went for a walk along the Billy Trail, and spent a lovely evening watching life go by. People I met were all friendly and wandered in to several pubs along the way (not on the trail). Very good train for walkers and cyclists.

It might be towards the end of February but this is spectacular! Postcode for sat nav is PO208AJ and there's plenty of parking despite it being a very sunny day. £2 to park here....just be ready with the money as there's a machine at the entry barrier. The beach is super clean and the white sand just goes on forever! Just waiting for subset now.

The Mary Rose Museum is home to the Mary Rose and the thousands of artefacts that were recovered from the Solent. Built between 1509 and 1511, The Mary Rose was one of the first ships able to fire a broadside, and was a firm favourite of King Henry VIII. After a long and successful career, she sank accidentally during an engagement with the French fleet in 1545. Her rediscovery and raising were seminal events in the history of nautical archaeology. After a 34 year conservation project, the Mary Rose is now fully on display within her purpose-built museum.

Highly recommend this fabulous exhibition dedicated to the Mary Rose. One of the best exhibitions/ museums I have ever visited. Brilliantly thought out. A huge number of artefacts, and part of the hull of the ship on view. Well worth the trip here.

The Spring offers a good range of live music and shows. The staff are always helpful. There is a bar and cafe on site, and the venue is open all day.

The location itself is pretty enough, but it is marred by the local residents, some of whom are extremely obnoxious and aggressive. I parked my car down there and some minutes later another car stopped adjacent to me and started to blow his horn. The driver demanded that I move; as I was not in his way; I responded that I saw no reason to move. At this point, his wife leapt out of their car, charged over to mine, yanked the drivers' door open and dragged me out of my car. All the time she was screaming at me and her face was contorted with rage. Both the woman and her husband then set about me. I reported them to the police and the woman received a caution. I have their details; both were long standing residents of Bosham Hoe.

As a visitor from afar, without bringing my map, I reached the Corner Beach by some skilled guesswork and investigation.
I got off the Stagecoach bus as near as I could, which was in a smart residential area. A "No access to the beach" sign on a private road leading to some big houses is intended to deter visitors, but I found that you can go past it until you see a wooden footpath sign on the right; it is fairly wide path and has a good surface, and is probably well-used by residents who don't want you there. It is a public right of way shown on the OS Explorer map.
There are some nice doggy walks round the Corner Beach as far as the Lifeboat Station. The nature reserve is fenced off; it is off-limits because it is the last remaining piece of unspoilt heath and scrubland on the island, so needs to be preserved for its fauna and wildlife.
I wanted a good walk from here to the whole seafront and then down the Billy Trail. Hayling Island is hugely residential, with a range of houses from average to very nice. But apart from the little railway (see my Review), Eastoke might as well be left to the locals to enjoy. The Witterings (go from Chichester southwards) offer a better seaside experience.

Plus visit HMS Alliance, the only remaining WW2 era British ocean going submarine, and the M33, the sole remaining British veteran of the bloody Dardanelles Campaign of 1915-1916. Also including the National Museum Royal Navy Portsmouth, Action Stations and the Harbour Tours, as well as the new Women in the Navy Exhibition and the Jutland Exhibition, there's plenty to see and do. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a great day out for all the family. Situated within a working Naval Base, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is the only place in the world to see the Royal Navy past, present and future - a must see for anyone visiting the south of England.

I loved the Historic Dockyard, even despite it being a cold, rainy afternoon. We bought a combined ticket of Spinnaker Tower plus one Dockyard attraction - HMS Victory - for £24/adult, which seemed reasonable. The annoying thing about having young sons, 3 and 1, is that everything has to be done at a pace that avoids massive boredom-induced tantrums, and although we only spent a few hours here I could easily spend a few days exploring it all in depth. Lots of interesting buildings and Exhibitions to wander in, in addition to the boat. I had visited HMS Victory as a boy myself and it was as good as I remembered. Navigating the boat with toddlers, particularly the steep staircases, was fun! I can only apologise to those people whose audio tours were ruined by two excited young boys running up and down the decks shrieking. One thing that would have been appreciated was a covered buggy park. I think this will be one to come back to when my sons are a fair bit older (if they have an interest in maritime history).

Lovely fun fair for wee ones and older kids.. and us adults! Several food out lets, fish and chips, whimpy and a Sandwich place baked spuds yum yum.. ice cream hot dogs chips natchos whippys. The staff are amazing whith the kids fun and very attentive to the children. Check out the winter wonderland! Its amazing and magical we have been for the last four years i highly reccommend it for a brilliant day plus after you have seen santa the kids get to go on rides on the fair. see you there!

Victory was so much bigger than I had previously realised - brought the ship to life. Spend the time to see as much as you can, you will not be disappointed - but mind your head, there are low ceilings everywhere.

I attended Kathy's networking evening at her beautiful in July, she has organised a Zumba and tai chi taster sessions which were a great way to break the ice and mingle with other attendees. Kathy was very welcoming and the food she made for us was delicious, her passion for food is contagious and I really look forward to going to another event soon. Great food and great evening
