The tour is very nice, offering lots of history for lower Saxony and Celle in particular. 7 euros is not a bad price for this self guided tour, however, I feel as though there should be a higher offering of English on some of the artifacts.

I recently visited this museum whilst on holiday in Germany. It is a very fascinating and interesting place with some very rare aircraft and artefacts on show.
The museum is full of original and unusual aviation artefacts from early flying days right through both world wars and into the jet age.
My personal favourites were the Spitfire, ME 109 and FW 190, all displayed in first class condition. I am returning to Hannover later this year and I am already planning a return visit to this very fine museum.
I can really recommend this museum to anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in aviation as it is a true gem.

We visited the Berggarten as it was inclueded in our ticket for the Herrenhauser Garten. Unlike this latter, the Bergarten is more of a botanical garden, less structured, wilder. They have some greenhouses where cactuses and orchids (the biggest collection in Europe!) are exposed.

This is a must do attraction. We visited late afternoon so did not have enough time to do it justice, however the setting sun provided me with some great photos. I'd recommend taking a picnic and a guide book in order to fully appreciate this place.

First be clear this is the Neues Rathaus (not to be confused with the Altes Rathaus) approached across a very wide and busy road. But once in see the wonderful space with magnificent staircases and space. Difficult to realise that it is the functioning town hall.
Then go out through the rear (through the restaurant) to see the parkland and lake and to view the building without all the traffic.
And for the best views in Hannover take the lift (3 Euros) up to the open viewing space at the top of building, but it can be a long wait due to it being a small lift. But it is an unusual lift....

We visited on a rainy day in August which actually made the experience better in many ways.
Due to the weather conditions there were very few people here on this day so it made the tour more relaxing and we got to see far more of the animals without the crowds.
Loved the seaworld display and thought the themed areas worked well.
Too expensive but we accepted that as a one off visit, we wouldn't pay that again to visit this location.

The Aegidienkirche was built in 1347, and was one of the main curches in the city. Then on the night of 8 October, 1943 following extensive damage from World War II bombing, the 14th century church was left a shell, with only its exterior walls standing. Instead of attempting to rebuild the church, it was decided that it should be left as a war memorial.
The Aegidienkirche has a peace bell, which was a gift from Hannover’s sister city, Hiroshima. Every year, on Hiroshima Day, there is a peace ceremony and the bell is rung each hour. There is also a glockenspiel in the tower, which rings over the city four times a day, sending out a message of peace.
