Crowded with locals in new year, spring sakura seasons.
Summer time is not a peak season but yet you can enjoy walkig in the woods from the wooden gare to the main building.
This temple is also famous for "yakuyoke dango",
dumplings with anko, sweet soy beans paste.
Few minutes drive from JR Aino station free admission.

I loved this place it was so cool. I have never fed a toucan let alone held one or even touched an owl. Great for toddlers and up. Bring extra money so you can buy all the food you want to feed the birds with! There are tons of different ones and you can feed fish if you want as well. Unforgettable experience. A must do!!!!! (Unless you are scared of birds)

Stopped here with some business associates on a Friday in March. It just happened to be March 3, which is special day for Japanese girls.
On 3 March of every year, newborn girls are given a doll as a gift. The legend goes that you must donate the doll to a temple, when you turn 18. Doing so shall ensure that you will get married.
The end result of this is that temples end up with a lot of dolls. This temple puts them on display every year from the beginning of January to the end of March.
Every room of the temple was filled with dolls, including very elaborate doll houses, displays of paper cranes, as well as a bamboo forest with dolls cut into the center of the stalks (The legend of the princess in the bamboo - she flies away to the moon when the bamboo is cut).
Quite an unexpected and awesome surprise. I am glad we got to see it!

You will see the history of Yamaha and the process of making of motorcycles. You can try actual riding of high speed sports motorcycles at 300 kmhr. There is a shop where you can buy Yamaha branded items and a restaurant where you can relax.

I was only able to visit the garden of the castle because I arrived after the opening hours so i can't tell anything about the inside but the outside is really nice, the castle and garden looks really nive in sunset. There is also a little flower garden next to it and also a tea ceremony house together with a palace what you can visit from inside during the opening hours. The castle is a 5-10 minute walk from Kakegawa station on a top of a little hill. It's a very easy walk even to the top on big stone stairs.
If you happen to be in Kakegawa I recommend visit this place.

大きくはない駐車場の前にある石段を上るとすぐ、重要文化財の山門（元掛川城大手門）をくぐることになります。寺院らしくない立派な城門で見ごたえがあります。多くの方はさらに正面に進んで仏殿にお参りされるのでしょう。そこには是非回しておきたい大念珠や吉利支丹燈籠もあります。
しかし、城門の先をしばらく進んだらまずは左折し山道を進むことをおすすめします。爽やかなちょっとしたハイキング気分を味わいながら、薬師本堂へと向かいましょう。観音堂を右手に見ながら右カーブを上ると滝堂があります。るりの滝で心を澄ませましょう。天井の龍の画も迫力があります。
そこから始まる石段を登り、両大師の所で90度右折してさらに登って行くと、趣のある三重塔が姿を現します。その先のやや急な石段を登れば、ようやく薬師本堂に到着です。
その左脇には六種の御朱印をいただける集印所もあります。９時半からのようでした。
遠州三山の中では観光地化していないので、私は最も気に入っています。

発数も多くて、綺麗で、素晴らしい、、ただ人も多くて行き帰りが大変。
電車で見える場所まで歩くか、道に座るか
車中でみるか、幼児連れ、デートの場合よく工程を考え、帰りの混雑にはきをつけないと。
トイレのない場所は困りますので、よく情報を収集してください。
