Shunkaen BONSAI Museum

- Shunka-en is the Bonsai garden and museum set up by Bonsai master Kunio Kobayashi (three times winner of the Prime Ministers Award, the most prestigious price to be won in Japan). The garden is an absolute highlight and should not be missed. When entering the garden the first thing you are likely to note is the stunning 1000 year old pine tree in front of the house, the masterpiece of Mr. Kobayashi’s collection. Inside the house several tokonoma are set up and a large collection of books and antique Chinese pots and tables are displayed. by bonsai empire

Edogawa Fireworks

The Edogawa Hanabitaikai is a unique firework show. Though fireworks are an extremely popular summertime event across cities in Japan, this particular exhibition pits two cities against one another: Edogawa-ku, and Ichikawa City. The duel show is presented over the river that parts both areas, with each doing their best to be more brilliant than the other. The result is a whopping 90-minute show with music, a feast for the eyes... and for the stomach, too, as many people bring picnics! Locals also tend to wear brilliantly-colored yukata to the event, which is recommended for an authentic night out. It takes place the first sunday of August.

Tokyo Sea Life Park

Reviewed By Hsien_Teh - Singapore, Singapore

Lovely place to spend 2-3 hours. The entrance to the building itself is such a novelty and should be a very nice photo opportunity on a sunny day. Like most other visitors who reviewed this attraction, we found the huge tuna mesmerising. But we also loved the simulated coast line with a wave generator. It was nice to see rare local specimens like the goblin fish and those that live in deeper waters.

Subway Museum

The museum is easy to find near Kazai Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. The exhibits include examples of older Metro carriages, interactive displays detailing the history of Tokyo Metro and how it was built, including technical details for the technology-minded. The highlight was the Metro train simulator where the museum guide would instruct you as you took the controls of the train through a part of the subway- it even looked, sounded and moved like the real thing! Highly recommended!
