Dorval /dɔːrˈvæl/ (French pronunciation: [dɔʁval]) is an on-island suburb on the island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. In 2011, the Canadian Census indicated that the population increased by 0.7% to 18,088. Although the city has the largest surface area in the West Island, it is among the least densely populated. Very interesting exhibits that highlight the history of Dorval. They also have special exhibits that highlight events and things that influenced Dorval and its growth. When we were there they had a special on the Lachine Rapids and what they meant to Dorval.
The museum also talks about the English heritage that strongly influenced the culture of the area along with the French connection. Tribute is also given the peoples native to the land.
Ample parking is available. There are restrooms also inside. There are stairs that take you to he second floor. While some exhibits are in French, they do have translated transcripts available to read.
The host and hostess the day we were there were very helpful and provided some very interesting insights regarding the people in the pictures on display. Definitely worth a visit even if it isn't raining.

Reserve Faunique Marguerite d'Youville

First, a warning to folks not familiar with the area, coming from the East, without GPS: coming in through the Kahnawake reservation, there are not street signs! So study your maps carefully, because I had trouble knowing where to turn without signage.
Once there, the beginning was quite busy, with a full parking lot and lots of families with kids there to take walks, pick apples, etc. Once in the reserve with fees paid (plus tax, as always!), it was busy for the first kilometer or so with people pushing baby strollers (never advisable if you ask me, but at least here the trail at the beginning is wide/flat enough) and with little kids. Once you get past the Grande Digue it got quieter. Near North Point I saw a buck. Walking back on the east side of the island was the nicest and most quiet area. Taking the Petite Digue back, I saw 3 great egrets, many mallards, and a blue heron.

Notre Dame Basilica is a must see in Montreal. Very close to The Old Port this church is magnificent! The architecture reminds us of some of the most noteworthy churches of Europe. The interior is awe inspiring. Include the visit while enjoying Old Montreal. As most tourists will tell you, this place is a taste of Europe in North America. I love my city!

Haven't been here for 30 years so I was pleasantly surprised to find a still-vibrant shopping venue offering a good selection of stores. It was bright, clean and seemed to enjoy a good amount of traffic and people seemed to be enjoying themselves.
In this age of declining malls, Fairview seems to be holding its own.

Our young daughters wanted to see this Expo and, quite honestly, I had little interest in seeing the exhibit.

Very large exhibit that covers every imaginable theme from movies to musicals represented.
TIP *Expect to spend about half an hour.
