Cathedrale Saint Pierre et son Cloitre

Reviewed By seifer1975 - Grenade, France

Built in a dominant position, the outside of the Cathedral is nice but not as well preserved as the interior. The whole church is accessible without fees and this is definitely an exception and a plus in France

Le Village Fortifie de Larressingle

Reviewed By NancyLMT - New City, New York

A deserving "most beautiful village of France" and a lovely and recommended stop while touring the villages in the area. It is on one of the major pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostella, like many other sites around Condom.
I believe it's the smallest Bastide (fortified town) in France. And it is small ! 300 meters around. Amazingly, there has been no development, so it stands alone amongst the vines and fields. Built in the 13th century, it is often called "la petite Carcassonne du Gers" because of its resemblance--I suppose because of the walls, even though I think that's stretching it a bit !
We just walked around, went into the church, and took some photos. But I believe there is a tour that takes an hour so you can learn more of the historical details. There was one gift shop.

Camp de Siege Medieval

Reviewed By Jo T - Gloucester, United Kingdom

This is a continuous tour of about 10 handmade replica medieval war machines, which you can join and exit at any point. There is a huge wardrobe for visitors to choose costumes from, including chain mail for the dads. It is situated opposite the castle in Larressingle, just outside Condom (towards Eauze), so a really atmospheric setting. The guide (owner?) demonstrated every item with help from the kids and the parents (including the tiniest of tots and the biggest teenagers). They are about a quarter scale of the real things, but you get a fantastic sense of the effort, power and drama of a castle siege. Our 5 year girl was enthralled by it all. The guide gave us very competent English instructions and had a wicked sense of humour! It is a slightly bonkers place to spend two hours and worth the money, although he was very careful about safety, the kids had a real sense of freedom and discovery that you might not get in he UK. A delightful living history lesson. There are basic toilets in site and ice creams, with a great little gift shop for bows, arrows and catapults. If you are in the area this is absolutely worth a visit ad was open until 7pm when we visited.

We found the staff to be helpful above and beyond expectation. We arrived in Condom just after siesta closing, and were peering in through the window when a passing staff member spoke to us and helped us out by taking us in and providing us with details of local accommodation. When we returned in the afternoon, we were given a great map with 4 driving circuits to gorgeous little towns all within a day's drive. Of course staff provided us with English versions of brochures where possible.

The riverside at Condom is well worth the visit if you are in the vicinity. There are good walks along the old towpath, especially if you have a dog.Fishing is available and when you have worked up an appetite the town is on the doorstep.Go for lunch with the Price Fix menus. These often come with wine included. So for less than £13 you could find a 3 course lunch incl. wine.
During the summer, they do cruises and some include meals. THere is a cruise to Nerac and it is a dining cruise

Electric bikes for rent with a programme of 9 walks in loops from 20 to 40km in the undulating countryside around Condom. Small roads with grass in the medium, visits of farms organic, duck producers, wines and Armagnac, historic sites, markets, expos, meals at the farm. 10 euros for a tour of half-day.much happiness! No tiredness!

We tried the electric bicycles during the Bio Gascogne and we loved them so much that we consider buying a couple. The region is quite hilly so these bycicles help you get over the hills while you can still exercise because you can turn off the power. The gentleman was also quite charming and he knows the region very well. We intend to go for another trip with him when the weather warms up!

Voie Verte de l'Armagnanc

Reviewed By christiane C - Manciet, France
