This is where the vast spread of this huge city really connects-the true centre of Shanghai.A great view of both sides of the river- the 19th and early 20th century ornamental British and European buildings on one side, and the futuristic boldly designed skyscrapers on the other. No scammers or pickpockets to worry about here,as it's heavily guarded.Nice for a brisk walk during the day, but amazing to stroll and gaze in wonder at night with all the lighting! Keep walking and you'll find the ferry.Its a 10 minute ride to the other side, and only about 2 or 3 rmb per person!Do your research, and find a fancy restaurant or bar looking across the river to relax and finish off the evening. You can't go wrong!

The famous Terra Cotta Warriors are a huge collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE with the purpose of protecting the emperor in his afterlife. These were only discovered accidentally by local farmers in 1974, and the excavation and restoration is still continuing. The statues are displayed in three huge buildings, each one the size of an enclosed football stadium. The restoration work goes on in the rear of the buildings and may be observed by visitors. Incredibly, each of the thousands of statues is unique, with a body posed uniquely and with distinct facial features. Many statues are in damaged condition on being excavated and are cleaned and restored before being returned to their original place.

You will see adorable giant pandas playing on the well maintained ground. Walking the paths itself is also very pleasant with lots of bamboo providing shades and look very cool. This place is not only for kids, there are many adults coming by themselves and enjoy the nice walking and watching the playful pandas. The park is huge, there are many pandas spread out at different locations. I would be surprised if you don't see one out there during your visit. We saw different groups of pandas - baby pandas, adult pandas, red pandas,....on the ground, on trees, and on wooden structures,....They are so cute! We took lots of pictures and video clips. A place with lots of fond memories.

What a magnificent man made bronze statue... Fantastic location, journey to Big Budhha though Ngong Ping 360 via crystal base cable car is amazing .... all peaks that were emerging from fog .... too good !!

Amazing how the Portuguese and Chinese cultures blended so well. The Portuguese did an amazing job in keeping their identity and respecting the Chinese culture at the same time. Great authentic Portuguese architecture and restaurants, on the other side of the world. Forget the casinos and enjoy a nice walk in the historical center of Macau.

First time for me to visit any zoos in China and it impressed me big time! This is a great way to visit the zoo- in AC and at your whole pace. You don’t have to be in the sun and walk 10K steps to see different animal! I personally much prefer this than any other zoo, by the way it’s a well managed zoo too!

First and foremost, definitely come here during off peak period. Rented a car and drove an hour from the Yalong Bay Hilton hotel to Nanshan area. You have to park at the designated carpark outside from the main spot and you can either choose to walk inside or purchase a bus ticket for 30 RMB each person. First stop, alights you off at the Guanying statue. From far, my first impressions were that it is just a bigger looking statue, no biggie. But as you start to walk across the bridge and enter the temple underneath the statue, I was dumbfounded. A gold statue was standing in the middle and surrounding her were different open rooms with the other goddess’ statues. Of which were all further surrounded with about 30 cm tall gold looking goddess statue on the cases mounted on the wall. Some had names on it, probably for those who made huge donations to this place. After walking in the clockwise direction (no hard and fast rule on this but that’s just how I’ve been told), and walking past all the smaller goddess statue, there was a sign saying something like FOOT OF GODDESS. Definitely the word FOOT was inside. Walked several flights of stairs and as you reach the top, oh my gosh, it was breathtaking! Just standing right underneath her and wondering how did they build her! Saw many people touching her toe nails and I did just that. I believe it must be for blessings. She has 3 sides so don’t forget to touch all 30 of them.. The view from there was really amazing too! Deffo great for photo taking!! After one round around her, walked down the stairs and was led to the second floor of the temple below which was showcasing similar to the smaller statues below but different names. Something more different was a dark and dimly lifted open room with about over 20 goddess statues. I believe they are made of jade. Was absolutely intrigued at the detailing on them. All in all, the workmanship of the statues, interiors and decorations were what made the entire trip worth it! Just the thought of how they were made was enough to get you to appreciate them. The vegetarian restaurant before the bridge to the Guanying goddess was really delicious! Plus if you sit near the glass panels, you would have a great view of her and the vast sea behind. Tips: • Do make tickets purchases beforehand on WeChat but if you’re a foreigner, you most probably have to purchase it via the counter with your passport. Same goes for the bus ride. • Fresh coconut costs 20 RMB there. Hmmm, I’ve gotten them for 10 RMB each from the non-tourist areas. But hey, if you’re thirsty, why not get one to enjoy while sitting near the sea and having the breezy winds blowing right at you. P.S. You can take the bus ride at a designated spot to the next few temples. The bus guide will ask who wants to alight and they’ll stop at each. But I didn’t do that, so I just sat through it and went back to the main entrance. So if you’re only going to one, you don’t really have to get the bus ticket, it’s only a short walk from the entrance to the goddess statue.

I loved the place (more than any other places in Shenzhen). I have focused on the larger sub-park, on left side, about Chinese landscapes and historic architectures : it is really great: a few hundred sites, each like 100 m2, showing a known temple, palace, mountain, gorge, walls (...), etc .. Each site is fairly well designed, with concrete (no plastic), correct painting, etc, including a few water flows to mimic rivers or cascades. It was great to guide the kids, teach them and let them discover all the variety of China. The funny part is that these sites are located, inside the park, on a kind of huge Chinese map (upside-down, though, you’ll see). It was by far my best experience in Shenzhen (more than Windows of World as second choice) or others. Note that I think there aren’t any playing items here (no roller coaster, etc). Written English information (dates, location, short historic background). Inside the park, there is one smaller half, on the right side, about pure Chinese folk items (presumably dances, houses, clothing, etc): it is not my priority (it would be too Chinese to let me appreciate it as it should): I have not been there and I cannot judge.

Dafen is where we go to relax, to buy art and art supplies, to walk, to see artists in action, to enjoy the architecture and the street vibe. There are art shops as far as the eye can see, workshops that do framing, printing and block mounting. The silk thread art is extraordinary but the oils and watercolors are why people go there. The original work is impressive but the reproductions are what make Dafen for me. Hand painted reproductions that are excellent but do not pretend to be anything other than reproductions.

In 1368 AD, Mutianyu Great Wall was built by Xu Da who is the main general for Zhuyuanzhang in the Great Wall ruins of Northern Qi Dynasty. The Closed Tram, Speed slide, the China dream stone sity, the Great Wall hotel, Yisonglou restaurant are constructed inthe tourist area, so its facilities and function are perfect.The tourist area was added to the national 5A scenic spot list by the National Tourism Administration of China in 2011. In June 28, 2014,the Mutianyu Great Wallintegrated tourism service area put into use. The integrated tourism service area, having service functions including a visitor center, the Great Wall Culture Exhibition Center, and catering and tourism souvenirs street,covers an area of 20 acres.In this way, Mutianyu Great Wall will provide a better travel experience for visitors.

Best spot to experience the Great Wall!!! About 30-45min drive by car from Beijing. Park in parking structure, (tons of souvenir shops there too), take shuttle bus to the “ski“ lift (fabulous views!!!!) and you’re up there!!!! Trees, panoramic views, such a cool experience!!! Take your time taking it all in & make sure to wear good shoes - lots of uneven/cobble stone steps up & down. But THE BEST part is taking the tobaggon/slide on the way down!!!!!!!!! Unforgettable!!!! You can go as slow or as fast as you’d like!
