<<Passion is what moves us>>, Rui Nabeiro had a dream and the work was born. Based on the know-how of a vast team, Comendador Rui Nabeiro made real and exceeded his dream. And therefore, Campo Maior, a land that only provides for those who love it, once again reveals all its splendour. Evidencing this is a legendary tradition, a unique winery and a taste that comes from the age of times. Campo Maior, formerly a wine production village, once again allows for the vine roots to drink its essence and grow the best grapes. Form and flavours come later, when the grapes receive all the care and attention that only experience and knowledge from a well-prepared and qualified team can provide. The Winery In the beautiful and untouched landscape of the Alentejo plain in Campo Maior, Siza Vieira erected an original building, a horizontal construction, painted in white and divided in two floors longwise, with a third floor intended for tourism and promotion of the Adega Mayor wines. The calmness arising from this simple construction contrasts with the complexity housed within, where monumental areas intended for production and storage go hand in hand with the social areas, designed for tasting and enjoying the wine. The 40*120 m rectangle of the winery is founded on the existing cavity and 9m walls stand tall from there. Access to the building is located at the southwest end. The architect Siza Vieira reserved the upper floor for the social and public aspect of wine. There, a tasting room was created, opening into a panoramic Terrace with a lawn and a lake, headed by a sculpted marble panel, also designed by the architect, where the silhouettes of a coffee cup, a glass of wine and a bottle overlap. This panoramic Terrace provides a view over the estate's vineyard and the olive grove, extending further to Spain and the Serra de Portalegre. Enotourism Come experience a larger and see firsthand how we design the wines from Adega Mayor. We have a wide offer of activities such as hiking, mountain biking, evidence of orientation, experiences vintage, team building activities, balloon flights, boat trips on the Caia Dam. These are some of the experiences that we provide. We will be happy to design a unique and personalized experience, if so desired.
After previously visiting the Coffee exhibition next door this was an interesting and enjoyable tour. It was conducted in English for our benefit by Tiago who showed great knowledge and enthusiasm about the wine production. We were able to taste wines at the end and made some purchases in the shop. At 4 euros each for the tour this is excellent value and a great afternoon out! Highly recommended!

The kids were really looking forward to seeing this gruesome place, but we couldn't fine a way in. We rang the bll, we walked all around, we tried the church. I suppose it would be great if you could get in, but even the local cafe couldn't help us.

It's a palace converted into a museum, keeping the extant olive oil pressing room. The garden has been beautifully restored with groves of trees, emphasis for the group of palm trees.

Bem implantado bem no centro da pequena vila de Campo Maior.
Lindo e muito bem conservado.
Em seu redor há onde comer e descansar um pouco.

We went here on a boiling hot day and there was nowhere to even get a drink. Luckily we had a bottle of iced water in the car or we would have had to abandon looking round. It's an ancient fort with a few remaining walled walks. We couldn't find a proper car park and other than having a quick look around the fort there is nothing else to do. Good views of the surrounding countryside from the top of the walls.

Nice little town, watch out if you want a drink at lunch time because it looks like all the outdoor places close then!
