Great weekend with Iain in Donegal. Easy to chat to and work with. Nothing too strenuous in the training yet there was a lot of information given. Very interesting and would highly recommend Iain as a leader. Looking forward to ML2

We were surprised to find we were the only visitors at mid-day in the prime tourist season, especially since Daniel had recently completed a very popular TV season. We are not particul fans, so others would find the displays and information to be more interesting. Apart from the introductory video the overall presentation is too static. We spent less than 30 minutes overall.

Much of the area surrounding Mount regal includes impressive natural structure. Once or twice, one might erroneously wonder, "Oh is this or that Errigal?" until engaging the mother lode leaves no room for uncertainty. And that's another issue. It's so often capped in clouds of fog for a bit. In such a posture, it's difficult to get a more distinct impression, reminiscent of the B&W Dracula, first Speilberg Jaws flick or Musical Comedy Brigadoon.
After awhile, a clear vista breaks out from top to bottom, with surrounding landscapes rivaling for some of the attention as well.

Visited family on Cruit stayed for 8 days and had the most wonderful holiday walking 3 times a day on Cruit beach.
The Beaches are spectacular breathtaking .
Walked miles had amazing weather too saw a seal and plenty of wildlife.
Photos do not do Cruit justice absolutely amazing
Cannot wait to visit soon
Donegal is so beautiful

Ferries depart daily from Burtonport (Áilt an Chorráin). We're the largest, most modern family run ferry to Arranmore Island. Total journey time 15-20 minutes. Certified with the Department of Marine and Fáilte Ireland to carry vehicles and up to 96 passengers. Indoor and outdoor Seating areas with onboard toilet facilities (suitable for those with reduced mobility).

Arranmore Island has spectacular scenery and is well worth a visit. We took a ferry from Burtonport across to it – return fare is 15 euros/adult; I think it’s free for those with over-65 travel passes. You are supposed to get a 10% discount if you book online but we couldn’t get it to work. We just bought tickets at the port which suited well as there are two ferry companies (one red and one blue) so there are plenty of times to choose from - just turn up and take whatever boat is the next to go.
You can get a map illustrating the island’s attractions and walking routes from either ferry ticket office at Burtonport pier. The ferry also carries cars if walking isn’t your thing or if you want to stay longer on the island, although you would need to pre-book your car as the ferry can take only a few cars (about 4).
We walked the circular walk shown on the map and spent 6 hours on the island. The centre of the island is beautiful moorland, the coast has beautiful Beaches and there are spectacular cliffs on the route to the lighthouse. It was terrific for walks and we would have loved to have stayed longer, so next time we hope to stay overnight and take the car on the ferry.

Close to Annagry and adjacent to Donegal Airport lies the Blue Flag rated 'Carrickfin Beach'. A small car park leads to a sandy path that opens out onto the beach itself. The beach is covered with soft golden sand which is heaven to walk upon. The area is spotlessly clean and a pleasure to visit. I took a dip in the clearest sea you are likely to find on the planet - nothing but pristine Atlantic water. The beach is quite large and with the weather so good when we visited it was a surprise to have it almost to ourselves. I could see how someone could park themselves on a towel and watch the day float by. Top notch!

Located on the main Bunbeg beach which is stunning!. Very shallow waters where you can wade out across to the island. The ship wreck is best seen when the tide is out, great for kids and photo shoots. the beach is amazing for care free play time for kids and lovely views of the sea and land. There is a free car park close by but we drove on to the beach before sunset and it was brilliant, lovely views of the sun sinking, the ship wreck laying on the sand and a lovely evening, very romantic!!.

Definitely my favourite pub to visit. The staff are so welcoming you feel right at home. The veranda out the back offers beautiful views.

We ate here with two of our children for dinner. Old style cottage pub and restaurant With great atmosphere and great staff. A few words As Gaelige (in Irish)is always appreciated.
I ordered the Steak Sandwich with chips,onions and mushrooms with pepper sauce, wife ordered Fish and Chips mushy peas, daughter had Sausage and Potatoes, so had one of the biggest pizzas I have ever seen. Service was excellent with the 16" pizza feeding 2 additional children. Ordered a Guinness which was really creamy and well poured.
Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Go raibh maith agat.
