We booked a 1.5 hour ride the evening before and they got back to me the next day to confirm a 2:00 ride for that day. The Ranch itself is beautiful. It was me and my husband and 2 guides. Rode the beaches and into the jungle. Horses were great with lots of energy and guides were easy going. Lots of cantering on the beaches which was fantastic!! Highly recommend Seahorse Ranch for an amazing ride.

“International Tennis Center” has been built in May 2017. But “International Tennis School” started the tennis programs for kids and adults in Sosua - Cabarete in January 2012. This is a great place if you need a little tennis while on vacation in the Dominican. Newly established center with 4 well groomed courts and welcoming people. The canopy court is perfect for protection from sun and wind. Traveling alone? There are very competent pros to sign up with for lessons or a casual hit. Highly recommend.

We spent a week in Cabarete, and relied on Michel for transportation every day. He greeted us every morning with warmth and enthusiasm. Every time we climbed into his modern and comfortable van, it was spotless, even if we had tracked in sand from the surf beach earlier in the same day (sorry Michel!). We always felt safe, Michel was always on time, and we knew that Michel was as excited to show us his country as we were to see it.

Enrique checked off all these boxes for us. He arrived on time in a spotless Cargo van and was welcoming and engaging. We told him we only had one day available and we wanted to see as much of the real Puerto Plata as possible. We got an awesome city tour of Puerto Plata, took the Gondola tour, walked the Fort, fed the monkeys, walked the high energy Sosua beach and had nice lunch at a local spot. He talked about the history of the island in detail throughout the day The best way for us to characterize Enrique was when we started to get a little tired around 2 in the afternoon I mentioned that we were getting close to heading back to the Hotel. Enrique respectfully proceeded to ask regularly how we were doing and could he show us just one more thing. As a result of this we kept agreeing to see one more thing and ended up not getting back to the Hotel until 6, happy that we had seen so much more. My take is most drivers would have just taken us back early, collected the full agreed upon price and went home early. Enrique was not interested in this and was determined to make sure we had a full day. Refreshments were plentiful all day and included fresh fruit, water, ice, coolers, beer and his homemade snacks. I could go on but suffice to stay Puerto Plata is our new favourite place and Enrique played a big part in our experience. He's easy to reach on Facebook so we would not consider using anyone else at this point for future transportation or tours.

I have traveled with Jojim Tours since the Pandemic started. They have been my private transport for shorts and long trips, such as one for the capital (Santo Domingo). Once you get thru the crazy-town drivers, the park is quiet and inviting. Easy ride up in the cable car, and the views are well worth the trip. Enjoyed the tropical highlands on top of the Mount.

Sosua is a wonder beach with warm clear water, awesome snorkeling, and plenty of delicious restaurants. I am writing this more of an encouragement for those traveling to this destination or staying at a resort in Sosua to consider bringing items to donate. Although this country is beautiful there are many living below poverty level. We were made aware of a school for displaced children. An orphanage that houses about 30 children. They survive through donations only. There are times during the year when the kids don’t have enough to each. Jolly Rogers restaurant hosts a Christmas party and provides some support through the year. I would encourage those traveling to the area to bring extra clothing, toiletries (toothbrush toothpaste soaps), shoes and expecially nonperishable food items. I’m sure that Jolly Rogers could get these items to the school. If you have any questions or would like more information feel free to message me.
