Reviewed By Jaclyn283From start to finish the staff at The Ocean Club made me feel at home, safe and happy. The “rooms” are not only rooms they are entire living spaces that are clean, have every amenity from a full kitchen to a washer/dryer. The grounds are kept impeccable. Every part of this property is so well thought out. There are several options for seating/laying by every pool and by the ocean. The food at the restaurant is delicious. There are several menu options that would appeal to various people. Again, the staff made every meal memorable. They are attentive and kind. Paddle boards, snorkeling, kayaking and cliff jumping are available at the resort at at no extra charge. The spa is beautiful and relaxing as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is peaceful and beautiful.

Reviewed By minnie_deanmy friend and i just returned from blue bay it was my 10th time there and i wasnt disappointed we had a marvelous time staff is very friendly and greet you with a smile every time we were there for 2 weeks and only had rain for 1 morning the nightly enterainment was fantastic hats off to george and his team alfredo melandy julio edwin and Berlin who went above and beyond to see that quests were entained special mention to antonio Rapheal and santas in the cafeteria The room was spacious and clean I would recommend this resort to anyone

The location is ideal due to its proximity to Puerto Plata (9 km) and Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) is approx. 25 km away. The hotel has 610 comfortably furnished rooms and offers many amenities. Relax with a massage at our Renova Spa or get in shape at our gym. 2 outdoor pools, 1 children’s pool. For the youngest guests there is the Kids Club (for children from 4 to 7 years & 8 to 12 years old) and for adults, day and evening entertainment as well as Club and the El Millón Casino. For lovers of gastronomy, we offer live cooking stations at our main buffet as well as Italian and Steakhouse or Caribbean cuisine, 4 bars situated in various areas of the hotel.

Reviewed By TouristLadyWe stayed there from May 31 - June 7. As it's low season, the hotel was about 40% full during the week. On the weekend it got busier, but we never had problems getting a lounge chair. The grounds are lovely. Everything was centrally located which made getting around very easy. The pool is a great place to hang out and we met some great people. The rooms are average. Clean and comfortable, but basic. Beware of the shower curtain that clings to you as you attempt to shower. The internet was hit or miss. Often one of us in the party wouldn't be able to get online. This is important for filling out ArriveCan and the e-ticket to leave the DR. The food is average, the buffet repetitive. The tables are usually only half set up with missing silverware/glasses/salt and pepper so you start cannibalizing other tables for them. The service was not great either. But you won't go hungry. One problem was the milk for coffee/tea. Several times it produced chunks in my tea. You'd think they'd fix it after a couple of complaints, but it kept happening. And if you're a tea drinker, bring your own teabags. The ones they had were not great. I will give two thumbs up for the dessert in the steak house (chocolate volcano) and in the Japanese restaurant (deep fried ice cream). Both were fantastic, and if I could have gotten away with it, I would have licked the plates. The BIG Issue The hotel has a time share section. The concierge staff are there to offer assistance and book your a la cartes, but also to get you to view a time share (code words: VIP Breakfast, "When did you get here?"). So what's the big deal - in all the bars there is selection of spirits on display that are ONLY for the VIP Members. You can see them, you just can't have them. Want a bourbon? Sorry, it's just for the VIPs. We really felt like second class guests.

Pretty beach. I can go on and on… We met an awesome couple who were on their 4th visit here and had previously travelled to quite a few other destinations as well as a great family of 4 who have also travelled else where…all had the same opinion as us, my husband, adult daughter & boyfriend. I recommend this resort to all!! We’ll definitely be going back!

Reviewed By selahnaomiThis was our 3rd visit. This time of year is not busy at all. We had fun in the pool, and it was nice for it to be less crowded than before. However I believe because it’s slow the entertainment extremely lacked. Along with the food. It was almost the same thing every single day - which is as before, this was not the case. I noticed they would reuse some of the same food from the previous day but just make it “look” different. I work in a restaurant myself and am food safety certified. I know that we try our best to control food waste so we don’t lose money - However, I believe that is unacceptable to serve the same vegetables and possibly rice that was not eaten prior more than once . I don’t really think that’s food safe. My husband got very sick from the food as well. I usually don’t complain but this just really bothered me. Our prior experiences with the food was great however. I believe when there’s more people there - the more fresh food they serve. The staff was great and overall it was a very peaceful trip. We had fun and we’re able to enjoy our time. If we come again, I will make sure to come during a more busier time for better entertainment and experience. I also did notice that the WiFi was better this trip and was able to use the WiFi by the pool and bar with no problem. That was awesome. For travelers, make sure you take a walk down the beach as they have a street with ice cream, pizza, sushi bar, etc.

Reviewed By amitchellaIn trying to avoid the crowds at the larger resorts in Puerto Plata, I opted for this boutique property in Cabarete. What a find! I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay or had a more perfect experience. Beginning with my original inquiry about the property, Alondra was responsive and provide great information. Booking was easy and she took care of a number of details - both transportation and excursions. She is truly a gem. I stayed in a 2-bedroom penthouse unit, which was far more spacious than I imagined. The living area was on one floor (along with a comfortable patio area) and the 2nd level contained the rooftop, with a couch, table, lounge chairs, a bathroom/shower and a jacuzzi. The area is not covered for rain but perfect on a clear evening, with views of the ocean and nearby property. The unit had all of expected amenities and was very comfortable. We opted to alternate between cooking in the full kitchen and dining out. A great option to have and everything you need to make it home is included. The location is perfect as well. Walking along the beach, gives you access to several restaurants that are part of other resorts. A quick taxi ride puts you in a very busy area of shops and restaurants. A block off the main street, you can also find some wonderful places to eat and shop that feel a bit more local. There is also easy access to both Sosua and Puerto Plato proper. If you are in search of a clean, safe and quiet place to stay with wonderful service, definitely stay here. I do plan to return as soon as I can!

From the moment you drive in through their beautiful gates, and walk through the door, the aroma permeating the hotel is pure zen and relaxation. The aroma provides a sense of peace and relaxation. The hotel, the grounds and rooms are beautifully decorated. The beach is immaculate and the views unparalleled. This hotel only has 50 rooms so you do not have a hotel experience but rather a feeling of being in a beautiful home away from home. This hotel is not only a jewel in the Dominican Republic but in the Caribbean. I highly recommend this hotel and hope you can experience what my family and I experienced. I celebrated my 50th birthday and the staff went over and beyond creating a feeling of being around family vs being around hotel staff. I met the owner of the hotel and she was engaging and charming. You can tell that the owners are paying attention to every detail and every guest staying at this beautiful boutique hotel. It truly is a boutique hotel. I will continue returning in order to relax and detox. The moment you enter and leave the hotel, you walking away feeling happier.
