We were in town for a cruise and we booked this shore excursion through the website before the cruise. We had a great experience. We had 14 in our group the oldest was 62 and youngest was 4. No matter the age everyone had a great time. Our tour guide Michael was amazing. He was patient with the kids and very knowledgeable as far as facts about our ride. The buggy’s were very roomy and the route was beautiful views. I would recommend this to anyone. We stopped at a local house and had local beer and also were able to buy local cigars. When you are in town book with these people and you will not be disappointed.

Buen Hombre beach and kite camp there were the biggest discovery for us - middle age couple since we arrived to Dominican Republic. When kiteboarding in Cabarete we heard people talking about the place and we decided to go there during no wind time in Cabarete. Now we can tell that Buen Hombre is a wonderful place for kiteboarding and kitesurfing. When we came to Cabarete 3 months ago I (Grazina) was really still at the beginner's level, especially that I haven’t been in the waves before. So I wasn’t able to go upwind, I needed a helper for 2 weeks. And then I was struggling to kite in a huge crowd of kite boarders in a choppy water, the only thing I cared - hoe go to pass through the kites. Suddenly at Buen Hombre the break through happened: after a few days of kiteboarding on a stable wind and flat water with a few kiters around I could practise handling my kite better, trying a different board more suitable for the waves, I even crossed the riff to the ocean for the first time. Thanks to the kite school guys who were always around helping to choose right size of the kite and someone always kiting around to make sure you are doing well in the water. On the 3rd day at BH kite school I had courage to do 7 island trip guided by Riin and Miky - it was my first downwind and one of the most memorable experience in the my life: being always watched by professional guides and a motorboat I felt very safe, therefore I could enjoy learning kiting in the open ocean waves, admire water colours and beautiful islands. After a week of spending in the kite camp with other interesting people we got back to Cabarete. We couldn't wait to go there again - having flat water and waves in Buen Hombre it was so much nicer to kite then in Cabarete. We also discovered that the wind in Buen Hombre is always 7-8 knots higher than in Cabarete, therefore it’s very rear that you don’t have enough wind in BH. We just came back to Cabarete spending another week in Buen Hombre: during it I could practice more kiteboarding in the waves, smooth transitions. My boyfriend Tomas had perfect conditions for learning to kite on a directional board. During this trip we did another 2 awesome down winds: from Paradise island through Mangrove forests to Buen Hombre and from there to Playa Popa. Both trips expanded my view to the coast so much. Seeing mountains and Mangrove forests was incredible feeling. At the camp we enjoyed the breakfasts and the dinners a lot - not only nice food including fresh fish but also wonderful company of both beginners and professional kite-boarders. Now we know that when we plan next trip to Dominican Republic, we plan to spend most of the time at Buen Hombre kite camp. It’s amazing how Riin and Miky have developed kite camp in a small fishermen village - Buen Hombre. If anyone looks for a quality kiteboarding vacation - it’s the place to go. Grazina & Tomas
