It is one of the three major towns of Slovenian Istria. The town has much medieval architecture, with narrow streets and compact houses. The square serves as the mid point between the harbour below and the church above. A great place for a quiet beverage at any time of the day.

Piran Town Walls

Reviewed By ElizabethG372 - Durango, United States

The walk uphill is absolutely worth it. Walking on this historic segment of the city wall not only imparts a sense of history, but it also provides great views of the historic town. Reasonably priced and a must for visitors. By walking a little farther uphill from the walls, we found a beautiful stone-paved walkway back down into town. The little cafe by the entrance has restrooms, and provided a nice place to stop for beverages after our tour of the walls.
