This is a singularly attractive museum in rather fantastical building set in a garden close to the banks of the Main. The place is an oasis and the museum collection is of a very high quality. There is a beautiful classical statue of Athena and a number of high quality Roman heads plus a couple of fine Egyptian burial portraits. The medieval collection contains sculpture in both stone and wood, including polychrome altarpieces. Highlights include heads of the four doctors of the Church, each intensely life-like, several beautiful Virgina and Child images, a St Anne with Mary and Jesus, two romanseque Virgins and a romanesque crucifix.

If you Love Museums, then you will Love this One. It has a Great Exebition of All types of Prehistoric Dinosaurs. It is in the West Side of Town in Bockenheim. You can catch the S-Bahn 8 or 9 towards Hanau get Off at Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt am Main (Main Station), then Take the U-Bahn 4 towards Bockenheimer Warte, then you are St the Museum. Have a Nice Time!

The St. Bartholomew Cathedral tower is well worth climbing for the views of the old town, the Main river & greater Frankfurt. The viewing platforms are at a height of 66 meters and are reached via a long stone spiral stairs. Hard on the legs as there are no stops along the way. Well worth it though for the amazing 360 degree views from the top. The descent is easier.

The old Opera House was basically destroyed during the war, but has risen Phoenix like with a superb warm and great sounding interior. Very close to our hotel, a free evening for us in the City coincided with an excellent concert by the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, which was an unexpected musical treat for us. The quality of the orchestra and soloist could not be faulted and we would certainly visit again.

Spent a good 2-3 hours at this great museum. Especially loved the interactivity and the brilliant montages of films covering aspects of sound, lighting and music etc. Would definitely recommend to any film buffs or fans of german/early cinema.

Prepare couple of hours if you plan in detailed visiting museum. There is staff in site that can give you nice tour tips and tell you about history of exhibition. It is great place for anyone that wants to know more about history of communication and there are lot of interactive thinga in museum. Highly recommended.

The Alte Oper at Opernplatz in Frankfurt am Main is a concert and event house. All kinds of events take place (see their homepage for actaul events) However, in addition to the events inside, a beautiful building from the outside. Many nice little cafes on the Opera Square invite you for coffee or tea. Easy to go there, in the middle of the city. Just enjoy the sun in summer and have a drink. The building also looks very beautiful in the evening when it is illuminated. Definitely one of the few buildings in Frankfurt that is definitely worth it! The European Central Bank is very close, and the banks of the Main are also not far away
