The Robert Taylor Museum Of Worldwide Arms

Reviewed By PamW296

It was a hot afternoon last Tuesday in mid March and 4 of us visitors to Vung Tau (just to Chill for a couple of weeks) decided to visit Robert Taylor's Musueum of Worldwide Arms. 4 of us were blown away by this amazing collection of Military Uniforms, Memorabilia and Facts dating back centuries. The buildings were immaculately kept and airconditioned to maintain the integrity of the uniforms. 3 different buildings full of amazing weapons and uniforms even those of the Australians fighting in the Vietnam war 50 years ago. Highly recommended to see this private collection here in Vietnam.

My first impression is that a building with beautiful roof titles. Our tour guide really informative and enthusiastic. We have distinguished and specialized in both medicine and pharmacy. We visited the herbal garden and a round of the traditional medicine factories. We had enjoy with herbal tea and bought some products after the tour.

Vietnamese Women's Museum

Focused on the contribution of women to Vietnam's history and culture, this museum highlights their roles in Vietnam's many military conflicts as well as in commerce, including features on female street vendors, women's role in the family, and more recently, single mothers in Vietnam.

Perfectly located, just two blocks away from Hoan Kiem Lake, this is an excellent museum to learn Vietnamese culture and history from the women's perspective through their daily family life and special occasions such as marriage, pregnancy, birth and wartime. Displays were well-organized including videos. Exhibition about traditional costumes and artifacts showed cultural diversity in Vietnam, which was all the more interesting for me because I was just returned from a trek at Sapa. Their museum shop was also great. The entrance fee was only 30,000 VND and I got a Japanese booklet, which I found very informative, at the same price. Highly recommended.

FITO Museum

A hidden little gem in ho chi minh city in a beautiful 5 storey building. I really wasn't expecting as much as what I got when I stepped into the museum. All inside is beautifully hand carved ornate wooden decoration all over the walls, ceiling, and everywhere you looked. There is so much info on tradional medicine you can spend atleast an hour or two here. They have so many things on display it's easy to get lost inside and it's definitely worth a visit. I even got a lovely herbal tea to try at the end of my visit.

The site of this brutal, unnecessary massacre is well-preserved for sober reflection. The museum has an excellent and surprising number of photographs from the terrible day. The dioramas and interpretive signs are well done. Everybody should visit this site.

We had a lovely morning with the kids visiting the terracotta park. Only 10-15 minute cab ride from central hoian and a great way to spend a few hours. Lots of history and sculpture with the museum, gallery and gardens. The kids learnt pottery on the wheel with local artists who are reviving the ancient Cham peoples practise of storytelling through ceramics, sculpture and architecture. A little gem of a place.

Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups

Reviewed By chasemarta - Chapel Hill, United States

We visited the museum and had an english speaking guide. If you go, I suggest you get a guide. The information is in Vietnamese, French and English but you learn so much more from a guide. The ethnic museum in Hanoi is much larger but this one has lots of information and examples of the homes for the different ethnic groups. Definitely a place to visit.
