Da Tano

I have given three stars because the food is quite nice, fresh and tasty. However, prices are way too high, especially for its poor location (the restaurant is far from Fano city-centre and under a railway bridge). As you enter, you can either be seated in a big conservatory (to the left) or in a smaller and more intimate area to the right, which can be accessed via a small corridor overlooking the kitchen and a small bar. We sat in this more private area at a nice big round table; the chairs though were quite battered, old fashioned and would need a good clean up. There were three of us plus a baby and we ordered two starters, two pasta courses and two main fish courses, a bottle of wine and no desserts and the bill came up to €140! Considering that what we've ordered could have been the meal for 2 people 140 Euros is definitely too much! Pasta courses cost about €12-15, all main courses cost over €18-20 apart from fried fish which costs €15. Desserts are about €6 and the typical Moretta Fanese (coffee mixture with rhum, brandy and Varnelli) costs €3,50. "Coperto" (cost for bread/tablecloth/service) costs €2,50. All food that we ate was fresh, cooked in simple yet delicious way and using fresh ingredients. Mr Tano seemed a kind man, with quite a loud voice though. The blonde waitress too was kind and smiley but a bit rushed off her feet (she appeared to be the only waitress, along with the owner, so no surprise really if she had forgotten our bread and we have to ask for it twice...).The kitchen made a mistake with my husband's main course: they presented monkfish with potatoes, veggie and a watery sauce instead of monkfish with artichokes. When we've asked the waitress for an explanation she said it was the kitchen's mistake but didn't apologise nor offered the due replacement. In a UK restaurant, you'd expect the owner/manager to come and apologise and perhaps to offer a complimentary bottle of wine for the inconvience (especially since my husband didn't make any fuss and agreed to eat the wrong dish, saving them from having to cook another main course). I felt that they "didn't get out of their way" to please us, something definitely NOT in line with their prices and the "tone" they'd like to give to their restaurant. Would I recommend this place? Probably not. There are loads of really good fish places in Fano, with much better prices and definitely more central and nicer locations so I'm afraid but they won't see us again...

After looking at the menu and photos online, we intentionally chose Da Yankee because the kids wanted pizza for lunch. Well, they don’t serve pizza at lunch! Disappointing. Instead, they ordered spaghetti con Tonno rosso fresco and spaghetti carbonara. Both dishes were “fine,” but the flavors didn’t jump off the plate onto your palate. I ordered a cozze alla Tarantina cob pane bruscato - the broth was nearly flavorless and could have been enhanced with chopped garlic and more butter. For my main dish, I ordered the Capelli del prete al Nero di seppia. I think that they forgot my order because I had to remind them that I had ordered a pasta when they brought the Dolci menus to the table. Great views, could use more attention in the preparation and organization of the kitchen

We stay in Fano at least 3 weeks per year, since more than 15 years and we always go to La Quinta at least once per year. In these years, their price has (unfortunately) continued to increase, but it's still reasonable and we have never been disappointed by the food. Their "grigliata mista" (mixed grilled fish), when compared with the ones of the nearby restaurants, is still the one with the best quality/price ratio.Sergio, thank you for leaving us your review. We are happy to read that you have always enjoyed here and have always visited us during your holidays, for over 15 years.Unfortunately, due to a constant increase in raw materials, in recent years we have had to revise some prices on the price list. We always want to supply the customer with excellent products and excellent fish. This leads us to make small price adjustments (not due to us) like all the locals in the area.Despite these minor adjustments we are very careful to keep prices low, in fact, as you have seen, we are lower than our competitors' prices.Thank you. We Hope to see you soon,La Quinta

Food served elegantly but often not so exantly in the taste. The food is surely good in the quality but often they tend to merge ingredients with no sense. My fish was good but not salty enough. Cakes better! Wine of good quality and prices not so expensives. Reccommended for people looking for special cooked pasta and fish.

Osteria dalla Peppa

Since 1910 in the old road to Fano there is a tavern, was reopened in 2012 with the objective to taste the traditional dishes. Our specialty is handmade pasta, rabbit, cod, homemade desserts. local wines. All our products are at 0 km.

Osteria dalla Peppa is ALWAYS on our “must visit” list when we are in Fano. The pasta is always fresh and menu selections are posted daily on their FB page. Tonight we ordered the burrata cheese with a light anchovy sauce and flatbread to start. The sauce was so delicate and the flatbreads were crisp and a perfect accompaniment to the creamy cheese. Another starter was Veal Tongue (carpaccio di lingua di manzo). It was tender and so thinly slice that it nearly melted in our mouths. My daughters ordered passatelli in brodo and cappelletti in brodo, traditional pasta from the region. The passatelli is a dense, cheesy noodle that is extruded from a machine and the cappelletti are meat stuffed pillows from heaven. For the main course my husband ordered Gnocchi Ripieni al Tartufo (dense pillows of potato with truffles - delicious!) and I ordered the carré di agnello (roasted lamb, cooked to the perfect temperature). We ordered a nice red wine to accompany the meal and ended with Visciola, a traditional digestivo from the Region. This restaurant never fails to deliver the best!thank you very much!by Osteria dalla Peppa

So - this is the second time here and somehow it's just gotten better. The family run hotel is simple but clean and has everything you'd wish for - what make it stand out is the restaurant. This is classical Italian fish based dining at it's best . From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by Silvia ( the daughter) until you arrive in the restaurant , you are treated as a member of the family - Gerioni the chef ( and mother) came out to reception to discuss with me what I wanted to eat and what was in season, nothing was too much trouble! ,Once those decisions were made , Flavioni ( father ) the head waiter/sommelier delivered his wine of recommendation - trust me it was good! This is a restaurant that delivers exceptional food with a wine list that exceeds all expectations! Definitely going to make sure I enjoy this place every time I'm anywhere near!!!!!

I visited Il Cuciniere last night with my family as a special occasion for my Mum's birthday. I couldn't fault anything about the whole experience. We shared some starters, the carpaccio meat being the highlight, then all ordered different meat dishes for our main course. My kangaroo fillet was superb, beautifully cooked and presented. The others in my party ordered pork, rabbit and beef, all of which were top notch. We also had wine and dessert, again all amazing. The service was super friendly, the waiter spoke excellent english and made good recommendations. He even overheard it was Mum's birthday and brought her an ice cream with birthday candle at the end. Absolutely dining perfection, would definitely recommend and will be returning 100%.
