Absolutely a beautiful church. Some of the stain-glass windows is what you would have seen visiting Notre-Dame in Paris. This church is quite large, enough to fit 1500 people. It is located close to Saguenay and is an easy walk from or to downtown. St. Francois is actually the fourth church to be built on this small hill. Two of the other churches burnt down. The present church opened in 1922. If you get a chance, stopping and viewing this church is well worth the effort. This is a beautiful church that is over a 150 years old. The parishioners are friendly and most will take time to welcome you and tell you about their history. It is important to note that this locality is around the middle of the province, which is French speaking, so many speak mainly French. This church is close to the cruise ship docks that offers a stunning view of the Fjord. A visit to this church is definitely worth a detour.
