An excellent book shop, with a good stock, they are clearly selective about what they put on their shelves. Having been here a month ago it was surprising to see the turnover. The books are in good condition and the prices are most reasonable, certainly highly competitive. We were very pleased with our purchases and service. After leaving, I thought again about two items, and emailed that evening. A most helpful reply was returned the following morning. I’m going back.

Stroud Farmers' Market

A great Saturday morning market, taking place almost every Week in Stroud. With a bustling lively vibe there's lots of good quality local produce on offer, ranging from eggs, dairy & cheeses, fruit & veg, meat, cakes, craft beers etc. There are often stalls with work from local crafts people such as potters, jewelers, handmade soaps & toiletries etc. There are also a range of street food sellers too if you don't feel like one of the many local cafes.

Intrigue & Mosaic of Stroud

Intrigue’s products are all personally ethically sourced by Caroline including many fairtrade items. "I believe we should do more of what makes us happy and I hope Intrigue brings a ray of sunshine to the high street offering a very sensory shopping experience!” she said. After a successful few years of Intrigue opening on Stroud's thriving high street, Caroline opened up the doors to Intrigue's sophisticated sister shop - Mosaic. "Style is timeless" is the phrase used to highlight the Italian style clothing which is sold in Mosaic, along with many other high-quality clothing brands and accessories. Caroline is firmly part of Stroud’s independent retail scene. The shops are a riot of colours from clothing sourced ethically from across the world, alongside a plethora of quirky gifts. Due to the challenging times for small, independent retailers across the UK Caroline has found it necessary to now trade online but very much hopes you will be able to visit her Stroud shops.

During the second lockdown it was so lovely to have a personal virtual shop! Their internet had gone down but I’d had a look on the website and decided what I wanted, but also wanted a couple of things that weren’t shown (having been to the shop several times before I knew they would have amethysts and scented candles!) so I sent a text message with my shopping list and the items were selected and I received some photos of the products. A convenient phone appointment later and the items were duly paid for and shipped. I absolutely love the products really carefully wrapped and ready to enjoy!

This shop is absolutely amazing, a mixture of vintage and high end products, including home, clothes, fragrances etc. Service always so friendly. The cafe next door (Canteen) is equally fantastic. A trip to this shop and coffee and cake next door is well worth doing.

Shambles Market

Reviewed By Gabby26 - Helston, United Kingdom

it was a fabulous surprise to come across the shambles market in the middle of Stroud the Friday before Christmas 2017. It is held every Friday throughout the year and is a true delight. There was a stall called 'vintage mary' which i highly recommend if your into anything vintage or crafty - an abundance of good quality wool in a variety of colours! Also, there were many pre loved house hold items such as cutlery, plates and quaint little and large teapots along with cups and saucers - it is truly a must see!
