Often purchased delicious fresh fish (Hake/Kingklip) which they clean/prepare & cook for me to take home â¦. Easy & delicious meal to which I add a spiced rice & salad. Iâve just ordered âyellow tailâ arriving fresh tomorrow, which they gladly clean & prepare for me to collect. I get regular sms messages advising what fresh fish they are receiving. They have an unpretentious âsit, order & eat areaâ if you have a craving for freshly prepared fish.

Great little restaurant tucked away in a small shopping centre.Recently refurbished with nice relaxing decor but completely functional.Food is Portuguese or Mozambique style with super seafood, chicken peri peri and such like. Staff are great and very attentive without being fussy and prices really reasonable, much cheaper than Sandton.Could not recommend more highly.

Overall, this place is solid 4 with excellent service and ambiance. We had a party of 4 for dinner. Both oysters and duck spring rolls were excellent appetizer choices. For entrees we ended up ordering lobster thermidore, chicken peri peri, sole in lemon butter sauce and beef fillet with green peppercorn sauce and steamed vegetables. Chicken was the most flavorful dish, lobster was good (a huge portion as well), beef fillet was subpar and sole was just a plain unmemorable and too dense fish entree. A quick comment on beef - this was not your typical 2 inch thick US fillet mignon, more of 1/2â properly cooked fillet. Steamed vegetables were severely undercoked. We ordered creme brulee and chocolate fondant for desserts, they were the best part of our dining experience. We had several different wines with our dinner and they were nice. Overall, we had a great time.

I love the Grillhouse Sandton but the service outside on the deck on a Friday evening is shocking. The place is packed and people are eager to spend but canât find any waiters. They donât seem to have sections or tables they are assigned to and there are not nearly enough of them. When you catch a different waiter and order, nothing happens. If you order from a manager, nothing happens. The San Bar up the hill from you has always been like this and thatâs why people donât like going there. You need to fix this, guys. At first I was put off by the extensive menu but was quickly charmed by the attentive professional staff. And then the food started coming out - everything was superb.The Peri-Peri Chicken Liver appetizer is a must as is the grilled calamari. We shard and tasted entree items from a Chicken Curry to Barramundi fish with vegetables to Lamb Chops and Salmon Poke Bowl - each was delicious The only reason Iâm not giving it 5 stars is that the food all came out too quickly. Before we could finish appetizers the entrees were arriving and it felt rushed. An interesting problem in South Africa where many restaurants are known for poor and slow service.....The place has a great vibe and is packed or a reason - they deliver good food at a great price!

We have enjoyed the grilled King Clip here before but today one dish was served a little raw probably because it was refrigerated for too long or not grilled well enough.The waitresses were friendly but the bill took long to come.The same meal at the same restaurant in Cape Town was served very well.
