Stayed half board at the Golden Star and received 5* 3 course dining for 13 of our 14 nights stay. I can only comment on the one night of buffet which we had, which wasnât great and didnât have any selection for kids, but I wonât dwell on that as the rest of the holiday was amazing!If youâre lucky enough to get the set menu as part of your half board stay, youâre in for a treat! This is a 3 course meal, and portions are huge so please come hungry. As my daughter is 10 and looking to try new foods, the restaurant allowed her to have meals from the adult menu which was fab.The menu did rotate towards the end of the holiday but not one meal was a disappointment. Probably the best half board hotel weâve ever stayed in, breakfast was lovely too although I would have loved to have seen freshly cooked omelettes. My old recommendation for the restaurant would be to alternate the buffet and set menu, so that all guests get to experience the dining experience. Some guests around the pool who were ready for leaving had been there two weeks prior to our stay and had never had the set menu, which seems unfair. Iâd stay again at the golden star on this board basis, but only if I was guaranteed to receive set menu for at least half the holiday.

A family restaurant since 1976 by the sea with magnificent view. We serve mostly fresh local fish and seafood, but also Cypriot traditional food, meze and steaks. Renovated in 2011.

We went here on our last evening of our holiday for dinner.The meals were excellent .The location is perfect but the place was very busy and we did not book but they managed to squeeze us in.We had to ask twice for our bill,we got the impression that the locals come first.

Went to this restaurant with my family. Warmly greeted and sat at our table. We waited 15 minutes before a waiter asked us for drinks. We ordered drinks and waited another 15 minutes. Drinks arrived and we ordered our meals, starters first.We all then waited and waited and waited. After 45 minutes and after seeing a number of guests remonstrating with waiters and the owner obviously due to the massive delay I approached a waiter and requested the bill. I was approached by the manager/owner, who is a nice person, who apologised. However we had been at the restaurant for over an hour without food and I wanted to pay and go elsewhere. Suddenly the starters appeared which begs the question ?. The starters were really nice so we decided to stay. The main meals several were poor and were not eaten. I remonstrated with the owner and told him that some of the food was below standard and service was awful. He apologised and reduced the bill. Sorry but I think some Protaras Restaurants ate becoming greedy putting profit before customers. Wont be going back.

We came across this restaurant by chance and what a lovely place it was x Such a welcoming man greeted us we sat outside overlooking the harbour beautiful setting kind helpful staff and the food was to am excellent standard and great value for money we even returned at the end of our holiday as one of our party had a birthday they went they made it extra special even presented my sister with a birthday cake !Would recommend this restaurant xMany thanks for your kind review :-)

This restaurant is a lovely place to eat dinner. Staff are very friendly and attentive and are there if you need them for anything. Lots of choice on the menu we ordered pasta and steak. Both were cooked lovely. Will definitely be returning

Visited this restaurant twice during our stay and was not disappointed with food or service. Usual selection of Greek and Mediterranean food, plentiful and cooked well. Set menu on offer. Complimentary after dinner much appreciated.

Visited on the 2nd night of our holiday & will be going there again before we leave. What a lovely friendly couple that own this place. We ate in and had fish & chips with curry sauce, followed by apple pie & cherry pie. Letâs just say we cleared our plates, delicious. Pay them a visit, youâll love it!!Thank you for the great review and recommendation, we very much appreciate it it.You will be pleased to know I baked a batch of cherry pies tonight, The apple pie will be made tomorrow. Hope to see you before you travel home.
