El Capitan has unique atmosphere based mainly on El Capitan himself. Strong man has not only great traditional food but superb local wine. Main thing - he knows the thing, because he is real tanker captain. Man saw the world and knows what good food and hospitality is.

It is the nicest place to have dinner in central Toroni. Their price is higher than any other tavernas. Service is fast and staff is good. Meals are served fresh. The fried mussel that I orders was too oily. Their restroom needs improvement. It is not clean that much. I reduced their vote because they did not leave my invoice to my table. My next table was a Greek family and they left their invoice after they took the order. Since I am a tourist they did not give any invoice and my check brought to me as a hand written paper. I guess they do that for tax purposes or charge more to tourists. You cannot understand their alphabet and just understand the total amount.

There are so many reasons I love this taverna... I will start with the owners and staff that are helpful and attentive, always smiling and welcoming - and able to accommodate even the craziest requests: Eg setting up, with no prior reservation, two tables for 18 persons. Some of my friends had kids and the staff were their best friends, with the help of smiles and complimentary ice-creams. :)The food is perfect, I recommend any type of mezzes and fresh fish, tested them all. The location is the best in Porto Koufo, being elevated you have a wonderful view on the whole port. Try it and you will sure return, like I do, almost every year. :)

I have ordered a spaghetti Bolognese, and steamed Muscles. I literally could not eat an both due to how basic and tasteless both was. The steam muscles tasted nothing like the 50 times I ate it in Greece before and was extremely salty. Even though I was very hungry I still couldnât eat more than the first bite. Should hire a new cook, the minimum reason why people go to eat in a restaurant is to eat, and I couldnât do that here.

We have been visiting this tavern for the last three summers, during our holiday period, following the initial recommendation from a friend. We have never been disappointed, as the quality of the food is always good, the atmosphere is nice and friendly, the staff eager to serve and the prices reasonable. Our last visit took place in August 2016 and we tried fish and sea-food plates with fresh green salads. We enjoyed our dinner there and look forward for our next visit.

Some of the dishes, like the grilled octopus, are among the best we have had ever - and weâve been eating alot of seafood in Greece during the past 20 years. So soft and delicious! Donât let the location by the main road scare you away! The seaviews can wait for one dinner ;-)Thanks a lot for your review.You give us strength and power to continue what we are doing since 1996.We appreciate especially your comment about the seaview because we see that people prefer the view than the quality. Chose this restaurant to eat in last night, mainly based in TA reviews and because it was the busiest out of the handful of tavernas in lovely Porto Koufo. Very friendly staff who got us a table at the front of the restaurant overlooking the stunning harbour. We shared sardines stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes and a stunning salad of rocket, parmesan and balsamic. A gorgeous meal.

Porto Marina used to be our favorite spot in Porto Koufo. This time we decided to bring our extended family here for a treat. That was a mistake. We were very disappointed: grilled aubergine was undercooked, rubbery and not tasty at all. Fried kalamary were rubbery and not tasty. Chiken filet was rubbery and not tasty. We specifically asked if they could make all dishes soft as we had senior family members with us, but it did not help. At the end we were unable to finish what we ordered. When we complained the waiter began arguing and explaining why we were wrong. We live in Greece and we know how certain dishes should be prepared. Sure enough they did not exclude anything from the bill. We got tired of arguing, paid the bill and left disappointed. This is a textbook example of how to loose clients. Unfortunately we will not recommend this place.hello I would like to answer to your commentI can understand if our food you don't like it is accepting from us also if someone don't like the food we don't charge the dishes and if you don't like why are you take all the food take away????I hope to find a restaurant to be ok for you !!!!
