Food was okay but the staff were awful. Rude and unpleasant, guy behind the counter was effing and blinding about god knows what! Waitresses were to busy talking amongst themselves and wasnât paying attention to anything! Will probably try maddys next time.

Had a fabulous Caribbean meal tonight. Having said that, the food here is always good, not just on a themed night. We also came here on Tuesday, as a family of 4 and had one of the best curries we've ever tasted and the steamed cod was exceptional! Oh and I have to mention that the strawberry daiquiri is well worth a try!Many thanks for your great review we are really pleased you enjoyed your meals and visits to the Ship & Pilot. Had 2x large fish and chips 1x small battered sausage chips and curry sauce.All plaits were cleared, the best chippy Iâve ever had and would recommend to anyone.We were looking for the best chippy and I was not disappointed.I will deffo return when I come here again.Service good as well.Thank you

We chose this place for something to eat at dinner time during a 3 day break away. I had the swordfish and my other half had rack of lamb. Excellent home cooked food, so would definitely recommend. We had 3 drinks on top and the bill came to just under £40.

This place is just what we need in a country riddled with pretentious overpriced sub quality restaurants. Letâs get back to basics and let the fresh products do the talking. Lovely crab salad served with a simple salad and fresh tasting wine. Great staff especially the young lad who served us.Next time we will go for the very reasonably priced lobster.

Had fish and chips here on our last night, really really tasty. Our fish came without skin which I prefer, and chips good. Lovely batter on fish too. Staff very friendly and organised and professional, compared to in another sea front chippy where poor service and chips not so good.

Started off with a speciality gin and tonic, chosen from several on the menu, which was so competitively priced for a restaurant. All of the food, and we had three course each, was beautifully prepared and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Our meal here was simply incredible. The seafood was so fresh and delicious, and the service was good too. We had sole goujons, lemon sole catch of the day and delicious puddings afterwards. Definitely need to book if you want to go here at any time but would certainly recommend it!

This is a true gem in the small coastal town of Ilfracombe in Devon UK. A top chef in an unpretentious setting with truly divine food for seafood lovers. Excellent service and explanations all through our 6 course tasting menu. We were all very full at the end and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience - even one who is not a real fish lover!
