Can you break into the world’s most heavily guarded vault?

Our family (with an 11 and 15 year old) has become obsessed with escape rooms. We love puzzles and being challenged and pride ourselves on having escaped all but one room (one of our first) and we’ve done almost 15 including Florida, Michigan, UK, and now Amsterdam. The two rooms here, The Architect and The Vault, are by far the best rooms we’ve ever done! After escaping The Architect (with barely over a minute to spare), we even changed our train departure to be able to do The Vault. It did not disappoint! Things we loved: Clear story even including some role playing by the hosts to really feel immersive. Huge rooms with a lot of atmosphere making it feel real and more exciting. The location is so cool and makes incredible use of the old building it’s in. Great puzzles with a wide range of types so you aren’t just unlocking 50 combination locks to escape. (We’ve done rooms like that and it gets very annoying and boring quickly). Puzzles that really force the team to work together even doing different things to ensure everyone is involved. Hosts that really make you feel a part of something special (the young gentleman who hosted us on July 19th at 10am for the Vault was absolutely FANTASTIC and we had a blast working with him. I wish I would have gotten his name so I could include it here.). Location is easy to get to in the center of Amsterdam. Cons: Only one: they only have two rooms. ???? I really can’t say enough good things about this place. If you like puzzles, like to be challenged, and want a great time then come here!

The Escape Challenge in The Netherlands (Delft) is a unique new game experience, based on the room escape games you may know from your smartphone or the internet. There is only one big difference.... the Escape Challenge is real! The object of the game is simple: Try to escape from a locked room within one hour by finding hidden clues and solving mysterious puzzles. The theme of the game is The Dentist. You will be locked up in the creepy practice of the dentist and while trying to escape you will find out what atrocities took place between the walls of this horrible room! Special effects, a specially composed soundtrack and creepy lighting effects will increase the tension. Are you up for The Challenge? Play this unnerving game with a team of friends or colleagues with a minimum of three and a maximum of seven players. We have a Dutch version and an English version of the game available.

A bit of a day trip from Amsterdam, whilst traveling through, but definitely worth it. The team there were extremely accommodating for us undertaking the rooms as a couple. We did The End, The Orphanage and Honeymoon Hotel back to back. We were blown away with the detail and effort that goes into the rooms. Lots of unique elements and scary moments, you never know what to expect! Loved the orphanage theme and detailed elements they had in there, apparently from an actual old orphanage that closed down nearby. We were very pleased we got the chance to play these rooms, are some of the most memorable rooms out of the 150+ rooms we’ve done around the world.

Mystery House

Mystery House is located in the old cinema of Valkenburg. The Escape Rooms are based on old movies, curses that have been left behind in the old movie theatre. Each room has its own theme, its own story, and ... its own solution. Escape rooms for 3-6 players (60 minutes): - The Lost Flight; based on the story of the first female explorer Amelia Earhart, who mysteriously dissapeared while attempting to make the longest flight across the world. (age 12+, languages: Dutch, English, German) - The Zodiac Letter; our thriller, based on the stories about the Zodiac Killer. The code name of a presumable serial killer, who was active throughout the 70s and possible after. (age 16+, language: simple English) - Asylum Revealed; just like groundbreaking journalist Nellie Bly, you will be locked up in a women's lunatic asylum. (age 16+, no language) Escape rooms for 1-2 players (45 minutes): - Master Mind; you are locked up in the occupied cinema during WWII. (age 18+)

The mystery house is the best escape room ever! Each room has a thematic based on movies (terror movies) giving the sensation you are part of it. And the place is thematic too, with old things at the entrance and some games do exercise your logical. The owner is very funny and charismatic! And give some clues during the game, good clues! Congrats!

Last night went to the Catch Me if you Can escape room with some friends. What a fantastic experience! Most of us had never done an escape room before so didn’t know what to expect. Without giving too much away, it was detailed, satisfyingly tricky and very exciting. There was a lot of content in the 1 hour time, lots of varied puzzles to solve, and the environments were brilliantly detailed. Also the people running it gave just the right amount of hints at the right times to keep it flowing without making it too easy. We actually didn’t complete it successfully but were very close, and it was still thoroughly enjoyable anyway. I cannot recommend this enough!
