...but my expectations aren’t high of anywhere in Williams Lake... Food was fine- nothing spectacular. Wouldn’t order the hummus + veggie platter again as the veggies weren’t super fresh and the hummus was dried out. Cactus chips are a perennial favourite and didn’t disappoint. Ravioli...MoreHi Koverton. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience. We take this feedback very seriously and would like to follow up with team involved. Had one of the most excellent Newyork steaks (medium rare) ever with peppercorn sauce on top and some yummy chicken base rice (i think but it was delicious!) Steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious! Had some sausage kale potato soup which was waaay better then I thought it would be (thanks Tracy!). The warm sticky Toffee cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce was outrageously phenomenally fantastic!!! Will be back shortly!

Pubs are not noted for their low carb fare. This one is no exception but the mushroom and cheese sauce pasta sounded too good to pass up....It was. I tried. but I couldn't finish it all.

Trattoria Pasta Shoppe

Reviewed By Williams Lake R - Williams Lake, B.C.

The scent of sizzling garlic greets customers as they approach this cosy little restaurant in downtown Williams Lake. Once inside, the smell of other Italian ingredients lets you know you are in for a delicious treat. The pasta portions are plentiful and ordering a luncheon sized meal leaves room for a salad, apply or homemade desert like Tiramisu. The atmosphere is homey, staff are friendly and the prices reasonable.

Located just off Hwy 97 they have ample parking available. The interior and grounds are spotlessly clean and the staff very pleasant.
We ordered 2 blizzards and 2 small cones for the dogs. The staff member immediately provided 2 cones, advising they will make the blizzards while we give the dogs their cones.
On checking the bill we noted the dog cones were complimentary. The blizzards were well mixed.
Definitely one of the best DQ's we have visited.

Since my last review (essentially saying great food but awful long wait times) I want to update to say that the wait times are faaaar less than they used to be :) We typically have breakfast here with a group every Wednesday and the staff are always wonderful, the food is always tasty and we're in and out in under an hour (unless we sit and visit, which it's the perfect place to get a coffee refilled and do so).

Bean Counter Bistro & Coffee Bar

Wholesome, Delicious, Fair Trade, Nutritious. Serving specialty coffees and teas, smoothies. Breakfast, lunch, freshly baked goods.

The Bran Counter is a nice place to sit and have a coffee. Their lattes are pretty good, along with their chai and other specialty drinks. I enjoyed all the food that I purchased here as well. The cinnamon buns are flavorful, not too sweet, but a little dry. I had a great veggie panini here, and their gluten free cookies are delicious. Their muffins are on point as well.
It's not a cheap place, but it also isn't expensive either. It's sort of regular coffee shop prices. I spend 7.50 on a small latte and a cinnamon bun. Both are nice sizes, so I didn't feel like I was being cheated.
The people that work there are great. They make an effort to learn your name, and are always very polite. I am always greeted with a smile when I come in.
There is free Wi-Fi and it doesn't get too loud, or busy, except during the lunch hour. Consequently it's a great place to get some work done.
If you're stopping in Williams Lake on your way somewhere else, or coming in for a visit, I recommend you pop by the bean counter for a quick bit and coffee.
