MONT ROUGE

Reviewed By Gingetraveller - UK

Last year I had an Easter Sunday lunch here. The set menu was simple but nonetheless excellent. I had foie gras to start and then rare fillet steak for my main course. Dessert was an alcoholic sorbet. All accompanied by a delicious local wine. This was 11 months ago yet I can still tell you everything about the meal.

La Sitterie

Reviewed By Liz S - Crans-Montana, Switzerland

We have been visiting La Sitterie for several years now and can honestly say that we have never been disappointed . The chef Jaques is a master in his field, his dishes are a creative and during the years we have been going there we rarely have the same dish twice. The staff are brilliant and make you feel at home and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We have travelled a lot and eaten in many excellent restaurants but I can honestly say that it's hard to find one that we enjoy eating in as much as this one.
It's fairly small, seating about 24 people so it's necessary to book well in advance. In the summer months there is a really pretty garden you can eat in and at night it looks lovely with fairy lights around. This restaurant is well worth a visit.

My colleague and I stumbled across this place by accident after visiting the Chateau's on the hill. We were both starving and craving something spectacularly tasty along with a glass of wine. Little did we know that half a dozen of our students were also dining inside. I didn't venture in but they told me later they were eating almost exactly the same meal as us.
The penne was soooo good. Best Ever. We sat outside and watched the world of Sion pass us by. Watch some of our students choose their own eateries and pondered over our Performances with the Choir so far.
A delightful cat came and went to say hello. Sweet.
Switzerland isn't cheap but fortunately, I wasn't paying so we had a lovely meal for a price that I would call mid range.
Staff were helpful - English was so-so but that's okay.
I'm not sure what my colleague ate but he was raving about it as well.
Gosh, I wanta return just for the penne. So fresh, light and delicious. Thank you.

Cafe du Cheval Blanc

Reviewed By Roland B - Nice, France

The location is very good, the main courses (fish and meat) were excellent and the starters good, but the service totally inadequate for such an expensive place. Two of the 4 persons had to wait almost 10 minutes to get their main course, which was very embarrassing for everyone because one of the fish dish ordered was already on the table and getting cold . The day we were there the Deserts were not good.

La Cabane

Reviewed By restaurant71 - Nyon, Switzerland

This charming little chalet-style restaurant has a big choice of traditional dishes that are nicely cooked and neatly presented. However, the problem is that the atmosphere in here is so bad that all the good things are completely outdone by the very unfriendly staff – which is mainly due to their total lack of understanding for customer care. There is no warm welcome at the door. In fact, you almost feel as if you were disturbing the people who work here. Consequently, service is slow and sloppy, especially if you come with kids. And once the food arrives, don't be surprised if you are told to eat quickly because there is another reservation for the table you occupy. Shocking! Never again.

Restaurant le Greppon-Blanc

Reviewed By AlexandriaSion - Sion, Switzerland

This place is neither "Swiss" or otherwise. The decor could be anywhere, and is tired, we thought. No table clothes, although there were serviettes.
Pleasant greeting for those of us who knew the staff, the others were not even greeted.
The waiter seemed to find it fun restricting the wine ( how do they sell more, when thirsty clients are rationed?). We ordered fondue. It came as a few lumps of meat, which were good, on a plate bleeding next to a few hot chips.
The oil was not hot enough so cooking was slow.
Sauces were fine, meat was good, but only beef, no chicken or duck or anything else.
For the prices, well, it was fine but can't say I will run up the hill again in a hurry.

Da Vinci

A sophisticated Italian-inspired cuisine and a friendly and professional service are the hallmarks of Da Vinci!

Reviewed By janneman55 - Antwerp, Belgium

rather by accident we ended up on the Terrace of Da Vinci (the neighbours took too long to even see we sat on their terrace), and took the lunch menu. It is a bit more expensive than most snacks and brasseries, but at least you get decent food. It is much more value for your money, and at least what we got was above average (the trout tempura is excellent)

Have visited this restaurant on a couple of occasions, always popular, with excellent service.
Would recommend reserving a table.
Meals are probably the best I have eaten in the area.
Menu different during the week to week-end, I prefer the weekend menu, more choice.
Looking forward to my next visit.
