this restaurant is immediately to the right of the motorway 'Via Di Servicio' exit at Km 197.
Easily missed if you are not looking out for it, but well worth the trouble to find it. Almost entirely patronised by locals, good, genuine Spanish, food and friendly, efficient service. Be warned that the portions are large, and if ordering starters probably best to order one between two.
We were here in late February so could not use the pool, but I think it would be a pleasant stop off for a cooling swim in summer. Well recommended.

Had difficulty getting in touch with winery via email but last minute phone call got us an intimate, one on one tour with Mari. The tour was mainly in Spanish (due to last minute nature of our tour) but my husband was able to interpret and Ms. Mari spoke enough English to get her point across.
We chose to eat lunch in the restaurant after our tour. WOW! Probably one of the best meals we had during our two weeks.
Wines were tasty. We loved getting to know Mari. Recommend going during the week as it sounds like weekends can be busy.

We went there thinking it was going to be good, but it was... fab! delicious food, wine and great service. Reasonably priced, although a bit on the higher end. Nevertheless it was a fantastic choice for regional upscale food. Worth visiting if ever in Valdepeñas.

This restaurant is also a tapas bar. It is located near the main square in Valdepenas. The food is very varied and looks pretty fresh. My wife and I decided to eat in the restaurant section. We both ate steak which was cooked according to our wishes. We avoided fish for precautionary purposes given that Valdepenas is far from the sea. I tasted a variety of the local red wine. It is called Corcovo and was a real treat.
I recommend a visit.

We had a wonderful three course lunch here and everything was simply great! Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, great food, a bottle of wonderful local wine and excellent service! We know where to go next time we visit Valdepeñas!

While visiting Valdepenas and the old town, we saw this wonderful restaurant By a small
plaza. It seemed cosy while in the retaurants By the plaza de la constitution, we got very
low service.
So we tried few tapas, as it was their speciality. I have to say that all the dishes were
extremely tasty, service was very very polite and effective ( even in the late night, the
restaurant was absolutely packed ).
The seats outside the restaurant were popular, as you could watch what was happening
around the plaza.
If you are around - go there - and enjoy!

This restaurant was recommended by Hotel Central where we stayed the night. My wife both had steak as our main course. The meat was a bit thought but that was no bad thing as it meant that it was pretty fresh and had not been soaked in tenderisers. The waiters were very polite and attentive.
Altogether a very enjoyable evening.

Una de las mejores pizzerías que te puedes encontrar. Sabrosas, deliciosas, abundantes y contundentes. Salón cálido y confortable. Buen lugar para comer o cenar ya sea con amigos o familiares. Amplia variada de pizzas para satisfacer todos los gustos.

Un lugar excepcional, el trato del camarero con los clientes es extraordinario. Las tapas que ofrece con las consumiciones a un precio totalmente asequible son un verdadero placer para los sentidos y el ciervo, preparado en esas finas láminas es un manjar. Está situado a unos mil metros del centro de Valdepeñas y es una parada obligada si vas a pasar allí unos días.

We were driving between Madrid and Cordoba and stopped for lunch. Our GPS directed us to the Plaza De Esplanade where we found a lively restaurant and shopping district.
We chose Moby Dick because the Name amused us. I had a glass of wine (tinta) and a calamari Sandwich, and my husband had draft beer and a plate of ham with mustard and almonds. The food was very good, portions were large and we were back on the road in less than an hour.
It is a charming town with a pedestrian zone shaded by colorful umbrellas. I wish I had a reason to go back.
