La table d'hote is often very interesting, thin crust pizzas in the wood fired oven are all good. Try the 45 days old Filet, costly but quite the meal.
Regular wine card is respectable, if the owner (Richard) is present and your budget allows for something special, ask for the not on the list selection.
Great terrasse but no Reservations outdoors.

I had the stuffed mushrooms and the veal parmesan with eggplant. Both were delicious. My husband had the beef tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. Not cheap - but you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Some friends took me out for a Sunday afternoon meal at this location and it was excellent! We were served as soon as we were seated and drink orders were taken. After we ordered the food arrived but not before two large bowls of coleslaw were served, one vinaigrette and the other creamy. I admit I love the stuff! I ordered the chicken an drib combo and the ribs were very tender and the meat was falling off the bone, the chicken was larger than the portion you get at the "Swish" and I do prefer the St. Hubert dipping sauce. I would return in a minute!

If you have a craving for a great coffee and a fantastic lunch Balthazar café is the place for you.All sandwiches are fresh and imaginative,the salads are made with the freshest produce and all coffees are....well coffees.The owners use local products and have a nack for making you feel right at home.It's a nice change from Subway,Tim Hortons or McD's.
They have a nice area in the back for you to unwind and listen to great music or even use the free wifi.
When in Val D'Or this place is always on my to go lunch list.

This restaurant is very cleverly located at the edge of the only tourist area of Val d'Or, a mining town in western Quebec, and was pretty busy when we arrived for dinner. The service was pleasant throughout and most of the wines very reasonably priced. My wife started with an excellent salmon tartare/gravadlax combination while my fried squid were poor. We both had the excellent baby ribs and then shared a decent strawberry shortcake dessert. All in all, a good night out.

What a pleasant surprise.
Had a french oignon soup and a pork chop
The chop was 1/2 inch thick and you could cut it with your fork
Little glass of Shock Top to go with it
For desert maple crème brulée and an espresso.
Excellent lunch
Will go back every time I am in Val d'Or

This place is a motel with a restaurant that is open 24 hrs a day except for sunday and monday. The food is delicous, natural and plenysome. What i like is that you can eat on place or take out and they included everything you might need. The service is excellent. This place is not a fancy restaurant with a high price tag but an affordable place were you can eat a very good meal for a decent price and be complety satisfied.
Every time i am going to go to Val dor this is the place were i am going to have my supper.
