The independent city of Rosenheim (Central Bavarian: Rousnam) is located in the centre of the district of Rosenheim (Upper Bavaria), and is also the seat of administration of this region. It is located on the west bank of the Inn at the confluence of the rivers Inn and Mangfall, in the Bavarian Alpine Foreland. It is the third largest city in Upper Bavaria with over 61,000 inhabitants and one of 23 administrative centres in Bavaria. Rosenheim is therefore the economic centre and the busiest place in the region.

When you're in Rosenheim, definitely go here for dinner. Service is fast and kind, and their pizza's are big (easily feed 2 persons), and for the taste; of and outer-worldly goodness. Mennnn... It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a pizza this good... Also...MoreGrazie mille - see you soon!

I've stopped by here a few times at various times of the day. I have to say in terms of value and quality this is the best place in town for breakfast. The food is fresh and well presented and tastes lovely. There are lots of options for you to choose from too.
It gets really busy in a morning and there are often tables reserved. It's out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the main square but it situated at the side of a little stream and an old pumping station. It's lovely to sit outside in the summer when the weather is nice.
Well worth a visit!

What a waste of a wonderful building. This restaurant is in a really atmospheric building, stone walled nooks an crannies and crying out to be superb. Sadly it isn't. It doesn't even come close. The evening we went got off to a reasonable start. Our table was nicely located. Our starters were OK (but didn't require any cooking so difficult to mess up), we had a half way decent bottle of wine. So far so good. After that things went down hill fast. When we'd been waiting an absolute age for our main courses - and seen others who had arrived long after us served and eating theirs - I went to find the waiter to enquire why - to be told that he didn't want to rush us! No - it wasn't down to language difficulties - the waiter was Italian and my Italian is fluent even if my German can leave a bit to be desired! Eventually the food turned up. It wasn't great. My Saltimbocca wouldn't have been capable of jumping anywhere let alone into my mouth. We decided to give desserts a miss and asked for the bill. Again I had to go and dig the waiter out - to be told, when he saw that we hadn't drained the entire wine bottle, that there was no hurry!! Believe it or not, about 15 minutes later I had to go and find him again to repeat my request. Eat your heart out Basil Fawlty!!

When in Rosenheim, I always pop into Flötzinger for a "Schweinsbraten" aka traditional pork roast. The portions are very generous plus you get crackling, dumplings and a traditional cole slaw - *yummy*. Staf is always nice and friendly and the kitchen sure is quick. Good value for money - can't go wrong here.

I lost the counts about our visits to the Kunstmuehle. We like the renovated industrial ambience. Even if sometimes it gets quiet loud inside in times when the room is crowded. If the weather is nice you can sit outside on side of a branch stream of the Mangfall.
The (seasonal changing) variety of breakfasts is amazing and the ingredients come from local, mostly organic producing providers. Normally we share one breakfast because it is rich. There is also a good variety of (seasonal) coffee combinations. The choice of cakes is great and normally it takes some time to choose the one for the afternoon tea (if we are there in the morning for breakfast).
The service is normally good. You don't have to wait to long for your meal.
There exists also the possibility to buy mostly fair traded/organic coffee beans, they grind it if wanted. And you can rent the tower for a special occasion (access is by elevator and the last steps by foot). The view is great and there is a nice room just below the topf of the tower where is place and space for the serving of champagne or other things (unfortunately we got bad weather for our occasion).
If you want to move after a nice meal, there exists the possibility to walk along the channel of the Mangfall upstream. There are always enough Bridges to cross and come back by the other side of the channel.

This is a must visit once in Rosenheim. Surprisingly, finding the restaurant was the most difficult task. After that, the evening was the most splendid experience ever. And, this comes from people who actually live in Italy (we're not Italians, but nevertheless). Every detail is thought of and you're stay is made truly special. We ordered the 7-piece full course dinner, which turned out to be more than 10-course travel via Italian cuisine. The portions were the right sizes and the recommended wine was superb. Service was something we will remember for a long time and plan to visit Rosenheim again, just to visit this restaurant. Do not miss it!

Coffee is not the only thing you can get at Aran's Cafes. Atmosphere, ambiance, and enticing sandwiches and breads are there, too! It is worth every Euro! I buy different breads to take home, spreads of all types (white radish in soft white cheese is a favorite), and fantastic books. A special book on a week in Alpenland has given new meaning to new places.. Seeing your friends in these two spots, one in the main fusganger zone and the charming one featured in the above mentioned book, all soothe the tired soul ...... after shopping in Rosenheim. Love this spot! We will return often, daily if at all possible!

We got the tip on this place from a shop lady and were very very glad we could get in. Lots of homemade pasta, home made mozzarella and great wine. Service was super friendly and you could have small or large serves. No one was unhappy with their meal. The stuffed zucchini flowers were a highlight.

50 euros got me two main meals, a side, dessert and two drinks. The house platter was amazing and absolutely filling, the risotto and fish was delicious. Nothing much to say except this was one of my better visits to a restaurant thus far.
