Alpengasthof Bodenhaus is found at the end of the Rauris valley before the toll road up to Kolm Saigurn. It is a delightful, traditional Austrian family run Gasthof. A beautiful restaurant with Seating inside and out - a perfect stop after a strenuous hike or bike ride. The staff are friendly and helpful and wear traditional costume.
There is a good range of food with much tasty Austrian fayre which is well cooked and beautifully served. The Apfel Strudel and Topfen Strudel are some of the best in the valley. It's definitely worth a visit - do go and enjoy.

I have been to this restaurant three times now. The food is just amazing. So full of flavour. It is truly a gastronomique delight. The owners are delightful very welcoming and cheerful. This is the place to for a special night. You would not regret it.

We went to this place on our first afternoon in Rauris for coffee as the Terrace looked quite inviting. My partner decided to have Eiskaffee (cold coffee with vanilla ice cream). After we had ordered, two local women at the table next to ours were paying their bill and we overheard them tell the waitress that the Eiskaffee was awful and tasted of nothing. She did not say a word and just took their money. When our order arrived, the whipped cream on top of the Eiskaffee was off (it actually looked yellow and tasted horrible) and there did not seem to be any coffee in the Eiskaffee. Frankly, it tasted like dishwater and looked a very pale beige. My parner took it back into the restaurant and asked the waitress whether this was meant to be a joke as the cream was off and the whole concoction tasted horrible. The only thing she said was 'sour'? No apology, no 'can I get you something else', nothing. At least she did not attempt to charge for the Eiskaffee as I made it very clear I was only paying for the regular coffee I had, which, btw, was ok. I must add that we are native German speakers, so this total rudeness could not have been down to a communication problem. I would also like to add that we thoroughly enjoyed our week in Rauris and staff in all the other places we visited were extremely friendly and efficient.

From the outside this place looks a little dull if not out dated, but inside it was busy, friendly staff
Portions were huge, well cooked and good range of options
I was almost full from the salad, never mind a main course

We sat outside in the end, which was really plenty in the warm evening

I went a few years ago to this restaurant, i was not happy with the waiter the big guy. He was very grumpy and rude. He did not want the serve has parmesan cheese with pizza.
I tried this restaurant again this year, the same guy who owns the restaurant with his brother was very go happy with smiles. Food his very taste. They make they pizza dough fresh not frozen.Very busy for dinner must book. and they give me parmesan with my pizza.

This was the first time we visited this restaurant and only we heard are good things. But we were dissapointed cause I got Cordon Bleu burnt at one end (read it black!). A mistake can always happen in the kitchen, but one sugesstion: make a new one and do not serve a burnt meat! I ate just one small part of the meat and the waitress after seeing that almost the whole portion is still on the plate did not even ask if everything was in order. So a bad grade for the kitchen and the service too!

Hotel/Restaurant- very busy, we hadn't booked but the very friendly staff found us a table. Unfortunately the menu didn't have English underneath as with most restaurants, but we did OK. As they were obviously busy, service was a bit slow, but we were on holiday. Good for families, good food, Beer great!

Well connected ski area. Great views, super mountain huts and great snow! Some easy blues, some not so easy for 1st or 2nd timers, the reds are excellent and there is off piste should you wish

This was our first time visiting Vennen's Bistro and we were made to feel very welcome. the food was excellent, very well prepared and the service was very personal. We will definitely be returning.
