Stopped here while visiting friends. It's in a remote location, unlike the bustling crowds of the Algarve.
Very laid back, casual, and comfortable.
We were able to share a variety of dishes that catered to the region.
2 of the stand out dishes
Feijoada Buzios
Arroz Tambril
Both were spectacular, and it was nice to enjoy a meal without being rushed, while a small music festival was being held in town.

We waited a bit because August is a crowded month in the South of Portugal, but this restaurant worthed the waiting because the food was very good and well served. The prices were not very high. The waiters were very nice and the food didn't took too long to be served.
We will probably go back there if going again to Porto Covo.

The white beans with dog-whelk ("feijoada de búzios") is awesome!! I loved it! The grilled pork meat is good but it deserve much better chips and rice. Nice Sangria.

Waiters in this restaurant seem to be working here against their will. If you don't speak portuguese, don't expect to be helped soon. Everything went awfully slow, from getting some simple slices of bread up to the final bill.... We spend almost 2 hours, with just a main course for 4 people. They ignored our question to get the bill 3 times, but always came to ask if we needed coffee, or dessert, or something else, while we had asked very clearly for the bill. Unfortunate experience in the lovely town of porto covo, wouldn't recommend...

The grilled sea bream we had was good and very fresh. But apart from that, our overall impression was not great. Very average service, the potatoes we ordered never came (but were nevertheless added to the bill), and there were none of the little gestures that most restaurants in the area seem to offer at the end of the meal.

A welcoming, friendly and popular place to eat in. We started with ‘house white’ whilst choosing what to eat and it tasted good as well as being good value. Having checked that we could get crispy pizzas, two of us chose this option. Others chose pasta dishes with fish. We fared best! Nobody managed a dessert.

Restaurante A Ilha

The restaurant is located in the Ilha do Pessegueiro Beach and one can enjoy a thrilling view on the island right in front. Like most of the restaurants in the region (Sines-Porto Covo-Vila Nova de Mil Fontes) the assortment of fish and seafood is large and the quality spotless. My suggestion goes definitely to the monkfish "Cataplana" (a slow cooking process in a closed copper pan which prevents the loss of the ingredients’ aromas, ensuring full and excellent flavour).
Finally, the Deserts - mainly inspired on the Algarve's most traditional recipes - cannot be missed! Fig tart is one of the specialties. The wine list is adequate despite not being great.
The service is friendly but not sophisticated and the dining room is large. It is recommended to book in advance.
Not a cheap restaurant but unquestionably worth the visit!

Nice little beach bar with great snacks and salads. A big fancy squid salad with a very cold beer was just awesome at the end of a beach day.
