My wife got a job today. Reason enough for celebrating. That being said, I decided we needed a meal out, as it's kinda been in-a-funk-city around here, of late. The Clam bucket, is unpretentious, lively with a warm cozy decor. West coast quirky. The fish tacos are excellent, the seafood caps(shrooms) with a couple of baguette cross-sections are melt in your mouth delicious. The capper , was the tastefully presented piece of NY style cheesecake, decorated by our server : CANDACE (superb server). It was so tasteful, I asked her if she painted! Thank you, Candace and Clam Bucket for making another meal , chez vous, memorable.

Large room but divided well. View of pool in daylight. Booths or tables. Large portions. Classic Turkey dinner very good, seafood pasta had very small shrimp & scallops cooked too long while prawns just right. Friendly service. Washrooms a bit of a trek but are up to date & clean.

This place was my first job I ever had when I was 16 ..36 years ago... locals here in town are loyal because it's been here so long..I don't understand why all these years they would install a flame broiler..the burgers are fried and the French fries are bagged frozen style ..nothing special to draw new customers in..uou could make much better burgers at home.and but your own frozen chips and bake them..much better

This place is local and has been serving up meals for over 30 years..the lunch and dinner are German comfort foods..schnitzels..soups salads.etc..I have enjoyed this place for at least 20 years,!. One of the finest restaurants in town..the only thing that is slightly annoying.but worth putting up with..is the german ooom pa pa...music...yucchh!

We stopped for lunch on the way to Tofino, with a friend who lives in Port Alberni and recommended Bare Bones. She ordered the salmon in panko batter, my wife ordered regular halibut and chips... I ordered both. I could not decide which was tastier.
Quite probably the best fish and chips I have ever had - fresh and light and delicious.

Small gem with incredible service and top notch eats. Two staff couldn't have been warmer or more willing to explain the menu, including the array of hot sauce condiments diners could add to their food. Decor was delightfully whimsical and brightly coloured, and the chairs...MoreThank you so much for coming in a giving us a try. We are happy to hear that enjoy our taco shop. Hope to see you again!

Only the best is good enough for our customers and friends! Hamburgers are made with AAA black angus reserve beef.One of very few establishments that offer BC Bison on their menu. Slow smoked, pulled Pork, Brisket and Chicken. Very popular menu items are really tasty. Homestead is for busy people who want great fast food. Custom meals, Gluten free and meat free options.

Went for a business lunch, and tried the special: soup of the day (chowder) and English muffins topped with a grilled chicken salad. Both were excellent! Only wish I had been there for dinner, so l could try one of their beer.
We sat on the deck, for the last warm day of Summer, worn a fabulous view. The deck is partially enclosed to protect from the wind, to make it a very pleasant spot.
Definitely return!

We serve espresso based drinks, coffee and many types of teas, including twinning's, stash and Mighty Leaf. Serving excellent homemade soups, sandwiches and salads. We provide some gluten-free and vegan options. Our café has traditional café Seating in the main part of the café, outdoor Seating on our front deck, as well as comfy chairs and couches in our Free Library Lounge. Always an great idea to settle in with good book and a delicious cup of coffee. Google says it's the best, and we agree!
