While "New to the area," we were advised to go to the Boston Cafe for 'Chinese Food.'
What a dismal mistake! We should have reacted to the odors that hit us upon entering.
The atmosphere was dismal, tables suffering and chairs questionable. What the heck, we had the recommendations of 'locals.'
There was (supposedly) a buffet. Unfortunately I don't think anyone had explained the concept of a buffet to the restaurant.
Despite being slightly in arrears of what would be the start of service for our meal, everything was tired.
Selection was lacking, Colours were removed from vegetables, along with any hint of crispness. Meat, or what was supposed to represent meat, was grey and tasteless; although some grustle did provide for extra chewing experiences. Even the rice was poor!
Cannot recommend anything for anyone considering the Boston Cafe, other than to avoid it.

We stopped here on our way into Parry Sound from a week in the Georgian Bay. The staff was helpful and attentive despite being really busy!! It was entertaining to watch the boats come and go while we waited to be seated. Seemed more like a dining hall than a restaurant type experience... but I like it anyhow. I tried the Haddock and the others in the family had the Pickerel which came on platters to share... with fries and coleslaw. Everyone left full and satisfied. Perfect summer fish and chips experience.

Sunday brunch around 11am, it started getting busy as we were leaving.
Pancakes were quite good, light & fluffy. The bf's eggs, bacon, & potatoes he said were pretty good. Typical dinner fare.
As I said, it was getting busy. BF waited in line for coffee refills for maybe 5mins. Suggestion - have the coffee in an accessible place, that way we can get our own coffee & not have to wait in line.
I found the cafeteria-style setup kinda odd. Place your order. Sit down. Go get your food when your name is called. I didn't know the etiquette, can you take the syrup to your table or do you have to use it at the counter? Also clearing my own plate, not a fan.
Everyone was super friendly, service was pretty fast & good food for the price. But if you like being waited on & have multiple coffee refills then go elsewhere.

The Log Cabin Inn provides the perfect ambience noted for fine dining and a exceptional wine cellar. Each of our chalets have a Jacuzzi & fireplace. Come & enjoy the warm & friendly atmosphere with exceptional cuisine & service.
Never thought we would find a place like this in Parry Sound. Its a 5 star dining place. Budget is according to the meal you are going to have but not over priced. Quite frankly, possibly the best steak i have ever had.

Stopped in for a late morning snack with my wife. We were seated quickly and had our coffee just as fast. The decor is unique, feeling like an old trappers cabin. Lots of cool old things hanging on the wall.
We each ordered BLT and fries. Food took a little longer then expected but when it arrived it looked and tasted great. The fries are really good, the gravy is better.
Overall a good meal, nice atmosphere and all for $30, including tip.
Great value for Money.

Had heard about Richards Coffee from friends and finally got to stop in on my way south last month - it was absolutely worth the wait, fresh coffee and huge tasty cinnamon rolls plus many other options to choose from as well. Clearly a very popular place with the locals and that really does say it all! Will definitely be my stopping off spot in the future rather than the souless service stations on the highway.

We were in Parry Sound at the end of April 2017. It was rainy and not pleasant. We were trying to find a restaurant to eat in but even the Tims in our area of town was closed. We eventually settled on Trappers Choice. The outside looked a lot like the outside of their menu, I have added the picture to the review. The interior was a pleasant surprise, just like the picture when you look at the reviews. The menu was good and we had decided what we were going to order, the server brought the food for the table next to us and it looked really good. My wife wanted to know what it was but she would not ask, so I did. It was as I remember an open faced hot beef Sandwich. The couple at the table said that they ordered it all the time and it was delicious. My wife ordered it. I do not remember what I ordered. It was good but not memorable like the hot beef. The experience was not what we expected by the signage. We do not hesitate to recommend The Trappers Choice. PS we had breakfast here in the morning and it was great.

New cooks make the difference. Fabulous meals. New manager is a very nice lady. Owner Mike is still one awesome fine man. Try Wellingtons. You will not be disappointed. We have been regulars over 4 years and no place else compares

Stopped in here before heading to Killbear Provincial Park. We ordered the Fish Chowder, Caesar salad and shared the 2 piece fried Pickerel.
The chowder was more a broth, flavorless, without that nice chowder creamy thickness, there was a slice of baguette on the side that would have been better warmed with a bit of butter.
The Caesar salad, I wish they had a small because the portion is huge! There was one piece of bread on top and it was not crunchy, so they could do with maybe two or three pieces of crostini and ensure it was crunchy...that said overall it was delicious.
The fried Pickerel was fabulous, it saved the day! Perfect amount of batter, perfectly cooked. The coleslaw was quite tasty and the fries were good as well. I would definitely come back and just have my own order of the fish.
It was probably a standard day, just busy enough and the service was great.

We have never stopped here before, just a little cafe downtown. Food was excellent, menu not very extensive, but good. We each had soup and Sandwich, soup was made in cafe and excellent. Good little spot, quiet and reasonable prices.
