Good meal out with family and friends, very patient and friendly service (especially as 2 of our party were 30 minutes late), menus in English but rather limited for those who cannot eat beef and nothing for vegetarians (yes I know its a steak house but you need to cater for all). Steaks well cooked but really annoying having a baked potato served in foil as most of the sour cream was not in the potato!

Always busy so reserve a table. Couldn't get in last night so did lunch today. Large menu with great specials. Pasta was perfect and my Scalopini was very good. Service was noticeably faster for their friends but everything great otherwise.

nice atmosphere plus delicious food at reasonable prices and smiling waiters. I highly recommend goulash soup, it was more delicious than in Hungary (at least to me)

Schweinske Norderstedt

Norderstedt is just outside Hamburg’s borders and is one of the five biggest cities in Schleswig-Holstein. Since 1991 it’s also been home to one of the first Schweinske strongholds outside Hamburg itself. The well-connected Schweinske on Ulzurger Straße won the hearts and palates of the locals here, thanks not least to the ideal location in the heart of Norderstedt. Beyond the familiar good food and friendly service, this Schweinske restaurant also has a smoking room.

This restaurant from the Hamburg franchise chain Schweinske makes good burgers with pork meat. The ultimate answer to the classical Hamburger. Good service. The restaurant is clean. The interior is budget style.

I have been here on a business dinner. The ambient is good, nothing special though. The people are kind and service is acceptable. It should be probably a little faster as we had some delays. Food is good, expecially the meat. Desserts are not fantastic. They seem precooked and heated up afterwards and they lose some flavour. Not at top not at the bottom

We only visited for a bier & a coffee late morning on a rainy day when this was one of the few places open. Despite only requiring drinks the staff were very welcoming and even provided complimentary ouzo. The drinks were of good quality, of reasonable price and the service was very good.

We are staying at the Freisenhof Hotel near the airport in Hamburg for the fifth time. We noticed this time they have a restaurant they recommend. When we drove up we realized it was a huge building - half interior horse riding area and half restaurant, with big windows where one can dine and view the riders. (there is nothing shared with the stable except the view). Or one can sit in the garden room which is all glass with a view to the pretty grounds. It really is like a private club. We tried it last night, went back again tonight for my husband's birthday, and will return again tomorrow night for our last night in Hamburg. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Generous main dishes are generally less than 20 euros. From the complimentary appetizer right through to the dessert everything was perfect. We especially liked the duck - tender, crispy skin, and on a bed of creamy sauteed cabbage.......excellent. We also had the steak, the rouladen and the zurich veal - all of them top quality. Even the rolls were excellent. Our compliments to Herr and Frau Berg for the way they run this excellent restaurant. They take the time to make sure their customers are well served and are very hospitable. A real hidden jewel in Norderstedt (Hamburg) near the airport.

Judging from the name I assumed to have a Greek dinner - well, it was Italian. Alright by value-for-money standards, but really quite poor. The recommended open red wine (Syrah) was pretty old (NOT mature) and full of deposits, just not pleasant. I ordered baked sheep cheese with olive oil as starter and saltimbocca alla romana as main. The pleasant, efficient and only waiter asked if I would like salad to go with the main or bruschetta as an appetizer, which I picked. This was quite nice. The cheese never came, instead I got the saltimbocca. It looked quite good, actually: nicely wrapped in prosciutto, sprinkled with onion cubes, garlic, 2 leaves of sage. It was accompanied by rosemary potatoes, which were far too soft. The 3 pieces of pork were medium done, I guess because they were very thick - about 1.5 cm instead of the 0.5 I expected. Still very rare inside, which is not the Italian way at all for saltimbocca. The taste was pretty much on the low side of average, probably because onion and garlic have nothing to do with the 'alla romana' way of cooking.
I am quite surprised by the high ranking of this rather poor restaurant, but then it's always a matter of taste. No surprise, though in respect of decoration: very standard German way of cheap decoration and - as seen on the photo - pretty empty. My judgement: utilization of Seating capacity is well deserved. I will not come back.
