We had dinner here before, so why not come back for lunch. Years had passed but the friendly atmosphere remained. We had two local dishes (pork chop, Würzfleisch, Sülze) and wine from the area. Just start with the first one and move on as long as possible :)
The view from their Terrace is wonderful.

Probierstubchen zum Loch

As we were walking down the cobbled roads towards Elbe, we chanced upon this restaurant and decided to have our lunch. The lady waitress guided us to have dark beer and Meissen wine for my wife. For food we had a German Schnitzel which had an egg with the sunny side up and a beef preparation. The best part of our visit is when we suddenly saw lots of vintage cars being driven around. The food was good and we enjoyed our meal.

Just opposite of a good café you will find this restaurant. The menu is amazing. We had some venison and poultry and both were excellent and visually attractive. The waitress recommended a right kind of wine which went great with our dinner.

We stayed in the guest house attached to this restaurant immediately after Christmas 2011. We visited the restaurant three times and on each occasion were very impressed with the choice, the service and most importantly the food. The trout was particularly good. Prices are reasonable, although not cheap reflecting the quality of the food. A great experience and easy to recommend.

First, we were pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality.
On our way back from Italy, frankly speaking, we were not expecting Italian food at this pizzereia in Saxony to be much better than some ristorantes in Como.
We all had to share and taste what everyone ordered just to make sure there is nothing wrong with us to get so impressed.
Service was also excellent and there was a small playroom for kids who got bored among adults.
Then, we were impressed again by the story told by the owner of the hotel we stayed at.
When Pizzeria Amalfi received a warning of flood in June, they kept calmly serving customers until the last one finished, and then, evacuated everything to a safe place.
Amalfi was flooded up to the chest, but there is no trace at all of June flood when we visited there on the 1st day of August.
Not only they restored Amalfi in such a short time - clean and spotless - but also kept their spirits high with spotless smiles. Bravo!

After our visit to the famous Meissen Porcelain factory we ended up in downtown Meissen at the Elbe River. Again a very traditional decorated restaurant with efficient service. Very much enjoyed the Forelle Mullerin (trout) with an excellent Grauburgunder from the Schloss Proschwitz Prinz zur Lippe wine estate.

Visited this restaurant with friends whist staying in the beautiful town of Miessen. Certainly popular as we were lucky to get a table and it had a good ambiance. Unfotunately the waitress that first served us could have done with a few days at a charm school but after she disappeared the following waiter was excellent. The food was fine and well presented. It was also good value. By the amount of customers it seems to be very popular.

30s Weinbistro

Reviewed By zephyrsong - Warsaw

It's a small restaurant run by a couple. It offers German cuisine in a lighter and more sophisticated version (if you'd like a pork knuckle with fried potatos - I am afraid this is not going to happen in 30s Weinbistro), like a chantarelle cream soup, a cold soup made of a cucumber and bit of wasabi, a ratatouille with local cheese in millefeuille crust, etc. Just make sure you don't miss home made sorbets - they are unforgettable!
