Bamboo is an urban industrial feeling restaurant decorated with Asian design elements, and offering a contemporary menu of Latin and Asian-inspired menu items. Bamboo has a world-class Sushi Bar, described in many publications and reviews as New York-style Sushi with a Caribbean twist. To top it off, Bamboo also features a fun, young, and dynamic bar and lounge area known as the Buddha Lounge, where our bartenders are itching to entertain. A resident DJ spins classic funk, soul, electro and lounge music on the weeknights which keeps the place buzzing until late. We serve food late into the night. Reservations are strongly encouraged, especially during high season.
Again, after arriving on the island my wife and I headed to Bamboo, the food, service and people were outstanding. In fact we ate there several times during our 10 days on St. Maarten. It's popularity has made it the spot in the Maho area, so on the weekends it extremely crowded and reservation will be needed, however it's worth it.

Nestled in the far corner of maho resort complex, la rosa restaurant is familiar haunt for local and visitors-in the -know. Consistent top-quality italian food with caribbean flair, served by a prompt friendly staff in an attractive atmosphere has kept them coming back for 28 years
We discovered La Rosa, in Maho, one evening during our last trip to St. Maarten. Tucked behind the main row of shops in Maho, La Rosa is that little spot that deserves a much higher profile. From the moment we entered the service was attentive, without being imposing. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. Despite the fact that there is another restaurant (with a loud live show) just a few steps down the walk, none of that noise filtered into La Rosa. Our meals were excellent, with ample portions, and beautiful presentation. The title of this review says it all. Seek out La Rosa and you will find Excellence.

For the last 17 years, owner Stephane has welcomed you to the palm groves of the lagoon at Nettle Bay where, watching the sunset over the lagoon, you can enjoy the gastronomic, gourmet cuisine in an idyllic setting. Chef Malory Leroux offers daily specials sourced from the market's daily offerings, without forgetting the signature dishes: foie gras in truffle oil, lobster raviolis, Wild French sera bass. Mathieu Maini, the pastry chef, is constantly searching for new creations, such as the already famous strawberry macaroon. La Cigale brings a touch of delicacy which rounds off your meal with finesse. The wine menu, without doubt one of the richest on the island, will undoubtedly seduce you. If Reservations are encouraged, it is because this corner of paradise, very busy during the season, is the ideal spot for a romantic dinner. (gift certificate - honey moon - weddings - Private Diner)
This little gem sits right on the beach.. it looks like it's behind an apartment building but don't let it fool you! Our waiter was very friendly and a delight! Everything I ordered was fresh and just listening to the water put me at peace.. the macaroon I had for dessert replicated Paris! If you have the chance to come to Saint Maartin make it a priority to eat here!

Moulin Fou is backnafter Hurricane Irma and the haven't lost a step. Our party of 4 ordered from the french menu rather thsn the sushi menu. The restuarant seemed untouched by the storm even though nearby buildings have sustained heavy damage.
The appetizers, including a crab salads and caesars and, were great. Three if us had seafood and one beef filet. The chilean sea bass special received raves and the sushi grade seared tuna was perfectly prepared as well. I ordered a delightful dover sole.
When the sole arrived it was expertly deboned & fileted at tableside then return to the kichen for final plating. It was done to perfection and served with a lucious cream sauce. It was the best dover sole I've had in years.
The server was very professional and his skillful deboning was most impressive. We wanted for mothung. All in all a 5-star meal.

After Huricane Irma (Sep 6 2017) the Terrace was destroyed, but a new and stronger place is in the make and almost ready. What a great place, real mediteranian food and very hospitable host. Wishing them all the best with the newly build Terrace and keep up the good work, and the great menu.

Credit cards Accepted. Currently open for Dinner from 6:00-10:00pm, six days a week, closed on Wednesdays.
We stopped in to Fig & Bananas after dinner and drinks at Bamboo Bernie's. It is new to Maho and we just wanted to try it out. First - they were able to make chocolate milk. When you vacation on St Maarten with a 5 year old chocolate milk is very important. The drinks were great too.
We were in around 7pm, and there were only a few diners. The barmaid was wonderful. Drink were yummy. And the restaurant seemed like a nice place to eat with the view overlooking the streets of Maho.
Next year we will be certain to have dinner at Fig & Bananas instead of Bamboo Bernies. I think it will be a better meal.

Our little Caribbean style restaurant has so much to offer: Laid back ambiance, great service, but the most important, delicious home cooked meals that will make you come back for more again and again. Like us on Facebook and be part of our community!
It was so nice to find this restaurant, after what seemed like an endless array of mediocre food and service issues during our visit, The Palms made up for it! The hosts are amazing, very cordial, made you feel so welcome, their little restaurant is a must stop for those looking for great food and service. We have eaten there twice during our stay and both visits were great!

We’re relative regulars in Simpson Bay area (well, at least meaning annual trips for 10+ years). Always meant to visit little J based on good reviews, but didn’t get around to it until tonight. I’m giving it “awesome”rating because the food is just incredible. Amy steered us to the first timers option of shared selection plate, plus bottle of wine. Best priced deal on the island, and so yummy that I’ll be thinking about this meal for a week to come. To be honest the dining area is lacking on ambience, but best deal and taste in town means that I’ll overlook space. Going back here before I leave town!!

We care about our community as well as the 46 staff members. Our goal is customer satisfaction, we want you to have a fun time, together with great food! Enjoy! We look forward to welcoming you back again.Frommers ReviewAmerican expat Cheri Batson opened this cherished institution in 1988. The rare tourist trap that even appeals to locals, this great place to meet people is outfitted in an irrepressible color scheme of scarlet, hot pink, and white.Everybody from rock bands to movie stars, casino high rollers to beach bums makes a pit stop at this open-air pavilion. The surprisingly good, relatively cheap food (think burgers, steaks, pastas, and fresh fish) is a bonus, but most come for flirting and dancing to an assortment of live acts 6 nights a week.Don't miss such regulars as Sweet Chocolate Band, if only to watch the guys don wigs and falsies.
We went to Cheri's for my daughter 23rd birthday based on a recommendation from a friend. The food was just OK. Not flexible with the menu options, you can't add or change anything. My coconut shrimp seemed overcooked and the rest of my party was;t...MoreDear Moblack 65 I am so very sorry we disappointed you. I wish you had come over and expressed this to me , I am at the Cafe every night. May you have a joyous year. Most Sincerely Cheri ? Owner

The hardest choice you'll have is deciding upon which type of Fresh baked FRENCH pastry that you'll want to eat. They usually have Almond croissants, Chocolate Brioches, egg and ham quiches, and many other types of yummies! Also, they have delicious stick bread !
