It is also called " Opor Gunting" because the chicken ( Kampong Chicken ) is cutted by big scissors. The portion is enough for breakfast, or you could the second portion to fulfill your stomach.
The grilled chicken is served with opor broth and oseng tahu, so it is the combination of savory and slghtly sweet sensation.
One branch is also opened near Mardi Rahayu Hospital Kudus.

I visited this place as a recommendation from my friend who from Kudus. I set out for breakfast and try Soto Kudus here. The seats are already full on that morning, approximately 20 seats. I tried ordering Soto Ayam because I do not like buffalo meat. Soto Ayam taste delicious! different from the other sold elsewhere especially outside of Central Java. In addition to Soto Kudus, there are a lot of crackers and a variety of skewers served there.

The "Garang Asem" and "Tahu Telor" tastes good. We never tasted those foods before, but both taste great and a little spicy. The price is also very reasonable. It is also located on the main road, and so easy to find. A recommended place to visit if you come to Kudus or Semarang.

simple Seating but very good and very tasty food. as breakfast or as lunch. the soto ayam is very rich and full in taste. don't forget to take some tempeh goreng ; crispy and freshly prepared.

The locals will proudly take you to the nondescript place outside Semarang, in suburban Kudus. Its a speciality place for the spicy chicken cooked in a leaf bag and eaten with plain white rice. it looks small but is filling. Its quite a delicacy and worth the effort.

H. Sulichan is located inside an enclosed food court. When you park your car outside Taman Bojana, you won't be able to see it because the stall is located inside the building. Taman Bojana itself is located right next to Alun-Alun Kudus, so finding this place would not be so difficult. Be warned though, that some street around Taman Bojana is one-way street, so you need to check the route via Waze (my choice) or other map applications.
H Sulichan is famous for his Soto Kudus, Pindang, and Soto Kebo. All was prepared in a breeze right in front of you (the way the seller prepares a bowl of soto is an attraction of itself). The broth is very rich in taste, the buffalo meat (I order Soto Kebo instead of standard chicken-based Soto Kudus) is tender, and all the side dishes taste good and fresh.
We came for dinner at around five and got a table just in front of the open kitchen where the seller prepares the food. At around 5:30, the place started to become busy (crowded, to be precise), and people started to eat their meal while standing, because no other seat is available.
Food price is very reasonable, we spent no more than IDR 50K for the four of us, each having a bowl of main meal + side dishes (kerupuk, sate telor, sate jeroan) + hot tea. The place opens at 7 AM, so we decided to visit this place once more in the morning before we headed to Surabaya, our next destination.

The look is not promising - black and tiny. Mix it with the special "peanut" sauce, and eat it.... it tastes wonderful... the meat is perfectly grill, soft and tasty.... you can easily eat 10 pieces and still want for more.... a MUST try when you're in Kudus...

Very nice authentic Japanese food. Slightly adjusted for Indonesian taste I thought as making the taste more strong and spicey. As Japanese and Indonesian kitchen are one of my favourites I can't ask for more. It is also worth to mention that they have Indonesian and Mexican food on the menu.
The interior is very lovely, especially the Terrace on the second floor - Perfect for a romantic dinner.
All that comes at a very affordable Price - will definitely come again.
