Whilst staying in Uzwil at the hotel Uzwil I ate in their restaurant the first night and was very impressed with the food, excellent quality, nice choices on the menu and perfectly cooked.
I found the staff to be so friendly and very happy to advise a non german speaking guest like myself, very nice people.
I am not used to hotel food normally being so good so was very pleasantly surprised.

My brother and his wife introduced us to the Toggi. Since then we have been there a couple of times and we still like it. It might not look like much but the service is nice and we have never been disappointed by the choice of food. I would not go there for a romantic dinner and the wine card is limited but it is perfect for a nice dinner with friends and family.

Yummy food in a traditional setting. I noticed a lot of people ordering pizza, so perhaps it's one of the specialties here. There was also an extensive cordon bleu menu.
But I opted for the evening's special: Schweinshaxe, or a large roasted crispy pork knuckle. Served with roasted potato slices and sauteed green beans, it made for a generous and ample meal. The meat was a bit red near the bone, but still quite good with a nice layer of fat over the lean meat.
My friend got the lamb, which I tried a bit of, and that was quite nice, too. That dish came with soup and salad, too.
Interesting art sculptures outside the building rounded out this place for a nice dinner out in a homey atmosphere.

excellent restored typical swiss country inn with a very nice outside Seating (gastgarten) and the attached barn with open front side.
the servants took the order very quickly and with a smile on their face - one feels welcome immediately.
the typical lunch menu comes with a soup, main dish and a dessert of fruits.
presentation of food, creativity and the taste can be described as excellent.
i would not know a negative point during our lunch there.
ambience couldn't be much better.
this is a very recommendable place to have lunch or dinner - excellent kitchen and feel good ambience.

Our chef, Filip Zahorsky allows guests to share in his honest, unaffected rectilinear kitchen passion. In his work he attaches great importance to offer a variety of cuisines with absolute authenticity. The constant challenge to create traditional dishes of regional origin, traditional dishes and offers with international influence is his drive. This professionally-established kitchen team follows his philosophy enthusiastic and consistent. The right to involve the highest quality and market-fresh Prudukte in the work is self-evident. We are proud that we can count on carefully selected, regional producer and supplier partners. This allows us to bear with each dish also a friendly recommendation to your taste buds from the kitchen to the table. Just like 90% of Italian restaurants outside Italy, this place would close in 3 months if located anywhere in Italy.
I tried a vegetarian pizza and I found on it quite a few things that I've honestly never seen on an authentic Italian pizza, like broccoli and spinach, while none of the regular veggie items where present (onions, peppers, eggplants).
Also, I'd be curious to know what kind of yeast has been used to get a pasta so little leavened.
My colleague went for some kind of factory-made tortelli which were swimming in a super-liquid panna. He didn't complain though.
But luckily I found something really Italian: when some friends of the owner arrived for dinner (around 15 minutes later than me), they got the best table and received their pizza right away, while I was still waiting for mine.
I won't talk about the price: my pay is in Euros so I'm a bit sensitive about this topic.
No wifi available, just in case.
