We booked chez Hans for a belated staff Christmas party and have to say top class.! From the warm welcome and lovely service in the bar which followed through to the beautiful restaurant, the service was fantastic and the food was appreciated and enjoyed by all.....presentation amazing , food so tasty with pheasant,cured salmon,breads and that wonderful tapenade (beetroot I think?) ,scallops and steaks being a big hit. Desserts did not disappoint either with a beautiful tiramisu,and the chocolate surprise shining. ...great coffee..all in all a wonderful meal !
Working in the restaurant industry ourselves we really enjoyed our dining experience in chez Hans and thank you for a great evening!

Needed to find some vegetarian food quickly and this place fit the bill. They have a decent salad bar, and were very helpful with the rest of the menu. Make sure you eat upstairs where there is a nice view of the street. Walking distance from the Rock.

The food here was absolutely gorgeous. I had a risotto of duck rillets and Parmesan shavings followed by baked cod with roast vegetables that were cooked to perfection. A white chocolate panacotta to finish off with gorgeous coffee topped the meal off to perfection. Add in a great waitress (Claire) and it was special!

We visitied the Rock of Cashel on a week day and were looking for a meal nearby after we finished. We happened upon this place, went to the informal buffet style facility upstairs. This is within very easy walking distance of the rock. The food was very good, we enjoyed the sheperds pie. We noticed that the owner (i assume) took great pride in his craft, when we ordered fries he threw out the current batch because they were not fresh and had some made fresh for us. Overall friendly people, reasonable price, good food, and great location. Child friendly.

Very disappointed with my mint chocolate mousse (special of the day) large portion but unable to eat it as it had a burnt taste...... believe me I tried.

When I got off the bus, it was almost noon. It made sense to have lunch before touring the Rock of Cashel. The lunch special of the day was braised lamb shoulders at about £15. The portion was exceptionally large and it was served with mashed potatoes and a side of over-boiled vegetables. The meat was tender but unseasoned, and so was everything else. If the gravy had been made using the meat juice instead of coming from a can or something worse, it might make a difference in the taste of this dish. I think my fellow TripAdvisors were way too generous in their ratings.

Booked a table for a small group for a significant birthday which I mentioned on booking with the hope that the chef might put Happy birthday on the dessert as with most other restaurants but there was no mention! All three courses of mine were disappointing, starter was poor, monkfish for mains was tough, cheesecake dessert tasted like brownbread! Service was good and staff were very friendly. The others made different choices and some were happy with some of the courses. We were seated by a very large radiator which totally overheated the area we were seated in and made the visit most uncomfortable. I won't be returning for dinner but would call again for coffee etc as the place itself and the Staff are great.

Wow. My husband and I were staying in Cashel and a local friend recommended we meet here. The staff were lovely and welcoming and gave us a basket of bread as we arrived early for our reservation. I am a vegetarian and I appreciate the special menu and that vegetarians are not just an afterthought. Everyone else in my party had meat dishes, and they raved about them.

We were Inticed into this establishment yesterday evening by the advertising board outside citing its ***** reviews on trip advisor. Our visit was a disappointment. Mini Grill bacon was inedible- steak was ordered medium and came out burned. I mean totally charred. Their were dirty dishes piled on the tables and the bar counter which had I seen prior to ordering our food I would have walked out. I watched and the dishes on the bar together with the dirty glasses and empty bottles were no moved during the few hours we were there. On the plus side the young barman / server was pleasant.

We popped in here after seeing the Rock of Cashel on a cold day.
It was a lovely little spot, although a bit crowded as almost all the tables were full!
We managed to squeeze into a table, and were brought menus after a short delay.
The food options are quite limited, but there's enough to suit everyone.
We had: the spaghetti bolognese, the beetroot salad, the coronation chicken Sandwich, and the mushroom soup. The food was all lovely, as was the pre-meal bread and butter.
It was €50 for four with the food and coffee, so fairly reasonable.
