Afterwards I found out that they charged me twice for the stay; once 12th of may (20334 THB) and then again on the 23th of may (20343 THB). I have tried to contact them/you several times but no one write me back. That is really bad service... I liked the stay, but it was not worth the dobbelt price. So if anyone from the hotel reads this - please look into it.

From the location, the quality of the service provided, the people working there, the beach access, the villas look and feel, the infinity pool, and the food from the restaurant - everything was great. We rented a Deluxe Villa and we were very pleased with our choice (although we were initially inclined to pick an ocean-facing or beachfront villa). We really didn’t need anything else. Very quiet, surrounded by tropical plants and trees, it felt like you were staying in a tropical forest. Lots of space, great bathroom, great bed (very comfy), the outside space (the terrace) was a nice place to relax. And, although there were other villas around us, the nature surrounding us offered a lot of privacy. If you are looking for a retreat, a nice, cozy, tropical place to relax and disconnect, this is a go-to place. On a beautiful island, with a great beach, everything you need on location (spa, activity center, restaurants, infinity pool, another normal pool, bar, and so on). If you are here but still want some fun/action, keep in mind that with a few minutes walk you can go to some local bars and if you rent a scooter you can easily visit the whole island, test all the beaches, bars, and restaurants, do some shopping in the local stores and get to know the locals. Tips & Tricks: - Go to Chill Chill @ Pai - just outside the resort, a few minutes' walk, you have a great local bar with the most friendly staff. Try pineapple fried rice if you are very very hungry. They have a beer (a huge plus on this island) - You can rent scooters from Chill Chill @ Pai - very helpful to get around the island. And very cheap as well. - Buy from the local stores (from food to clothes and memorabilia, they all are very cheap. Try the ones near the medical clinic, I found them to be cheaper than in Bangkok or Phuket) - Go to Loh Had Beach. For food & drinks, try White House Food & Beverages – it is a small bar & restaurant just on the beach with great scenery and the owner of the bar is the nicest guy. He also organizes boat trips to the surrounding islands. Huge thanks to Khun Nil from Activity, Yam from Office, Por from the bar, and all their other colleagues. They were very helpful, proactive, and sympathetic to my needs, asking if I was feeling OK, if they can help me in any way, and so on.

Reviewed By Coastal48610455924Very romantic destination. We visited during COVID so VERY few people here: they upgraded our room for free! You have to book the beachfront villa. It is worth every penny—and at an incredible price. Service is amazing here, food is super tasty, and the views are SO AMAZING. Keep an eye out for Monitor lizards if you visit, they’re lurking all around the resort, as well as stray cats.

You could stay here chilling for a long time even if you explore Ko Yao yai in just a few days time with a scooter. thiwson also provides scooter rent for a fair price. Will come back here next time in Ko Yao yai.

Reviewed By Katlin929We had an incredible stay at Esmeralda view. The view is stunning and the breakfast is extraordinary! They use fresh vegetables and fruits from their own beautiful natural garden. The atmosphere is friendly and familial. They own cats and a lot of chickens, which are free to go wherever they like. If you can afford it, go for the deluxe bungalows. They are worth it! Though the beach is not suitable for swimming. If you look for a calm, beautiful place with a lovely atmosphere, this is the place to be! Definitely recommend!

Reviewed By Getaway65258264950Party of 4 staying at a nearby resort but found it lacking in food choice and extremely expensive. Walked 100mtr down the beach and found Yoa Yai Resort. Decided to eat evening meal there and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Decided to check out the rooms for any future visits and we all decided we would book this resort on our next visit. Pricing was significantly less expensive for arguably better food and service albeit probably not the exceptional views from the resort we were staying in. Only reason 4 star and not 5 is we never actually stayed in the resort

Slept in the forrest!
Reviewed By Mike BIt's an amazing place, it is literally like sleeping in your Dad's tree house as a kid! The rooms are on stilts, the floors are thin and bendy so don't jump up and down!! There is a fridge and an AC in the room. A wet room is attached - sometimes there is water and sometimes it is hot. ;o) a mosquito net is provided and probably needed too. We were there just for one night 13 Nov 2019. You really can hear all the night time sounds of the forrest and it's amazing. Unfortunately a tom cat had sprayed in the room and it smelt seriously bad so was physically unable to stay another night. We were early for the season so hopefully they will tidy some more as the season progresses.

Quiet island paradise
Reviewed By tonia186Stayed here for 2 nights and worth every cent. Could not pick any fault with this place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had lost my travel card and they went help me try and locate it. Happy to assist with transfers to and from the pier to other places. Food was fantastic and nicely presented. I highly recommend the Gyoza, fisherman’s pie and snapper with white wine sauce. The room was extremely clean and very nice. Pool was lovely and cool. Great views of all the neighbouring islands. Loved the outdoor shower even the hill climb to room was a good leg day work out. Would definitely come back here again.

Reviewed By sydneysteveMy review relates solely in respect to my experience as an online customer. I had booked a room around 1-2 months prior to my visit via an online booking site. When I arrived on Koh Yao Yai I was offered assistance by the local police. The local police were soon informed that Koh Yao Yai Heaven Beach Resort had closed for renovations. I was taken to the local police station where I needed to find alternative accommodation, which I did. Prior to doing this I attempted to phone the resort, firstly by the number provided on Google and secondly, by a different number as provided on Agoda.com. Both numbers resulted in prerecorded messages advising the number no longer existed. I received no communication from this resort advising that they were closing and I would have to find alternative accommodation. To my dismay, on the very same day I was to check in my credit card was debited for my 3 day stay. No attempt was made subsequent to reimburse monies paid. It was not until I had communications with Agoda who were finally successful in making contact via email did I finally receive a reimbursement to my credit card. No apology was forthcoming. I'm sure, overall, the resort is an attractive place to stay, which from my research prompted me to make a booking in the first place. I can only hope when the resort reopens that they pay more attention to online customers than what I was given.
