Although this bar/restaurant has a cool North American vibe if you miss home the food is exactly what its like too. Bland and sad looking, I had "nachos" a term used loosely here(think taco bell but with less toppings) and my wife had the "quesadillas"....I hate leaving bad reviews but this one deserves it. Maybe something will change. On a bright note,the view is spectacular

my husband and I stopped in here to ride out the rain storm. I was looking forward to my experience based on other reviews. Unfortunately, it was nothing like the pleasant experience that many of them had.Upon arrival the restaurant was not yet quite open for business. I understand that, and have patience. We had a beer sat at a table and waited. The owner, or manager not sure who talk to us about having a snack. We discussed chicken wings, or grilled shrimp. We decided to order the grilled shrimp. Silly me and it's stupid tourist mistake I did not ask how many, or how much. A bit later, our food arrived. I was surprised to see that we both were served a plate of very, very, very small shrimp served with potatoes and a small salad. Almost like an entree. Okay, there was another opportunity for me to say hey? What is this? We ordered an appetizer. But again stupid American Tourist mistake I accepted the food. It was not grilled shrimp, it was not an appetizer, and it was not very good either. When are bill came we were charged $15 / plate. Nothing we could do that at that point because we had already eaten the food. Lesson learned and move forward. But did not have a good experience on any level.We apologize for your Experience. The price of shrimp on the local market has doubled and so has the quality. We are sourcing other supply networks and we will improve on that. Please come back for a free meal... Again this is not reflective of our normal standard.

This place was so good last night, we had to come again. The owner and his staff are great. We came for All You Can Eat Spaghetti and it was fabulous. They even had a movie on the big screen and sports on the smaller screens. Love the atmosphere here! Prices are unbelievably cheap compared to the quality of food and service! Thanks for everything from the couple from Wyoming!!!It pleases me that you had an enjoyable time. Hopefully you enjoyed all of Belize and come visit us again. You are always welcome here at The Pig and Belize.

Many thanks to the staff at Tipsy for a stellar good time! Brought friends to the bar and left with even more! Frozen drinks (specialty) are just wonderful on a hot humid day. New events nightly include karaoke, drumming, etc. Lounge at the bar, lower deck, upper deck, or right on the beach! Food is very good as well with specials daily. Many thanks to Sal, Gillian, Lydia, Nancy, Chino, Fabio, Annie, and the rest of the Tipsy Tuna staff!

It was our first visit to Placencia and we were so impressed by this small quaint corner of Placencia. Regan was amazing and we loved hearing his stories. Will hopefully return in the fall/winter. Hoping to see Dillon there too!

We did arrive somewhat late but I did not think it was too late (about 8:30) as this is a bar and restaurant. The waiter was nice but the food took forever to arrive. The order of chili cheese fries was small, maybe 20 steak fries, topped with not much flavorless chili and melted cheese. The burgers when they finally arrived (over 45 minutes after ordering) were okay but not worth the wait. Considering our group of four was one of only 3 groups there we could see no reason for such slow service.

Comfortable place, nice people, cold beer, good drinks and good food. I especially like the daily dinner specials. The owner puts on a fun trivia night on Thursdays, on weekends they usually have some live music. Truly a nice place to have a good time.

The colorful tables and the quiet view during slow season make it a very relaxing meal. Coconut oil chicken stir fry. The chicken in Belize is non hormone, non GMO fed, non steroid pumped and you can really taste the difference. Barefoot will never win an award for in and out, but sometimes that it nice.

We have been to Mariposa many times to enjoy their great daytime environment, lunch and their pool. But last night we finally fulfilled our desire to make our way there for dinner and we were so happy, ecstatic, and stuffed. The food, service, and atmosphere were phenomenal. We loved the Husk! We stayed at Coconut Row so we wanted to try other places in town but most nights we agreed that the food here was better than other places in town. So yummy-the husk toast for breakfast is unique, the curry dishes for dinner are really good, and the lunch special is always something yummy!
