Welcoming guest house and youth hostel in the centre of Fjallbacka. Within walking distance(200meters) of the harbour, shops cafes and restaurants. Large kitchen for selfcatering. Furnished garden. Free WiFi. 5 Meters from the bus stop. Car parking.

Reviewed By FrancyfreGiven the fact that Sweden is generally extremely expensive (at least for Southern Europeans), Fjallbacka is no exception. However, this is a good place to stay if you want to save a little money. Last May we paid half price with respect to Store Hotellet Bryggan, fair enough since this is a sort of hostel with private rooms. No breakfast is offered but there's a kitchen (i think they have coffee for a few crowns). We personally went to Store Hotellet and paid 12 euros for an amazing breakfast. This is a good solution if you don't wanna pay the full price of a hotel but need to have breakfast somewhere. Indeed, if you happen to be in Fjallbacka during the week (except summertime) most places are closed down (including cafes), expect the restaurant on the pier.

Reviewed By joefaulWe arrived at the Branno Vardshus at 1:40, twenty minutes prior to check in, and they would not check us in, even though check out was at 11. Us, and two or three other groups, had to sit and wait to get checked in. Right at 2, they slowly started checking people in. After we got checked in, they did not explain where our room was so we had to wait for other people to get checked in. What a pain. After this experience though, the property was very clean and our room was comfortable. The location is relatively close to everything. After check out, we asked about storing bags and they said that we could in their public restaurant. Was not a fan of this, but that was okay.

Rural charm and hospitality
Reviewed By Mia SYou find Karlslund guesthouse situated in a small village at the foot of Kinnekulle and near lake Vänern. The B&B epitomise the rural tranquillity of the area and is ideally located for exploring the beautiful surroundings. The house is packed with old world charm and accessorized with antique furniture that adds to the impression. All of the nine rooms are airy and light and with an individual touch. There is a common space living room and access to the garden. The breakfast buffet will see you content with eggs, bread, yoghurt and cereals on offer. Karlslund guesthouse has a genuine atmosphere which is boosted by the landlady’s kind welcome. This B&B is a true gem!

Reviewed By AnthonyIGSuperby located, this is a very good choice for staying in Smogen. I had a very nice room on the ground floor with a balcony overlooking the harbour. All rooms have shared bathroom facilities. The reception and breakfast area are located on the waterfront, whereas the rooms are up some steep uneven steps to a parallel road. Service is good and the rooms are pleasant and clean. I also had a snack of shrimps and avocado with toast together with a drink at one of the seafront tables outside reception. The breakfast buffet was small but perfectly adequate.

Stay in the old village smithy and spend time in the miller family’s original buildings. Enjoy the views, with the feeling that the time has come to a standstill in this charming village. Hyssna has two natural parks where you can go for lovely walks, or take a guided tour and learn more about the mill, Kvarnen, and the story of the sawmill owner. There is a wonderful mix of the exclusive and modern and the old and genuine in Hyssna. Fall asleep to the babbling brook The house has a very special atmosphere with its ingenious forgings and hand-sawn timber from the beginning of the nineteenth century. The sound of hammers ringing on iron in the smithy have long since ceased and instead you’ll fall asleep to the babbling of the river Surtan. Rest, go hiking, cycling or canoeing Give your body a well-deserved rest in the wood-fired sauna, jacuzzi or hot tub. The surrounding countryside and culture beg to be discovered, either on foot, by bicycle or in a canoe.

Reviewed By Marianne AHär bodde vi en natt på vår cykelsemester, förläggargårdsturen. Vi blev väl omhändertagna av värdparet som berättade kvarnens historia för oss. På kvällen fick vi avnjuta en fantastiskt god trerättersmiddag utomhus med det porlande vattnet i bakgrunden. Vi såg forsärla och strömstare. På morgonen åt vi en mycket god frukost och vi fick med oss en god lunch för vår cykeldag. Ett mycket trevligt och personligt boende.

Reviewed By Jörgen HMycket trevliga rum och ett stort allrum. Mysigt läge nära en badplats. Ett ställe man kan rekommendera! Väl tilltagen frukost som man får plocka fram själv. Naturen runt omkring är verkligen vacker. Nära till Alingsås där det finns många caféer och restauranger.
