Bird on the Hand Falconry Experiences

Birds of Prey Experiences - By appointment only. Up close personal encounters with amazing birds of prey that will delight and amaze and I guarantee they will have a great time. My customer comments say it all. Sorry we are not a centre where you can turn up at any time for a look around. Our experiences are pre-booked. My birds of prey days give lots of handling and up close experiences. I have small groups of up to six participants (20-30 are not uncommon elsewhere). We concentrate on being with the birds - handling, flying, feeding and finding out all those special fascinating facts. I like lots of questions and delve into my 45 years of falconry experience to answer them. I have a great location here in the countryside, marvelous birds and a generous welcome. This is a Birds of Prey Experience That Won't Disappoint - This is A Gift As Special As You Are!

I had been looking forward to going on a falconry experience for many years since participating briefly at a country show. The session was absolutely brilliant in every way. We had the opportunity to get up close and personal with several species of bird. Owls (Tawny and Little owls), a Harris Hawk, an Eagle Owl, a Peregrine/Lanner Falcon and the majestic Steppe Eagle. Andrew Blake and his son Duncan were very knowledgeable and explained the different characteristics of the birds. This made the experience more enriching as you developed a greater understanding of characteristics of the different species. There was plenty of contact with the birds too and some were even amenable to being stroked or fed from the hand. Any nature lover would find this a really enjoyable and fun day. I would recommend you go with a friend if you can as there are endless opportunities for photos, but if solo (as I was) the other participants oblige.

Very nice place and some lovely footpaths. I parked in the car park by the park and used the footpath that goes under the railway line. There are many footpaths that lead to the hill and one that goes around the hill if you don't fancy going up but the view is amazing.

No where better on a warm sunny day than to settle down by the water's edge of Stonebridge Pool (or one of the other park's lakes or pools) and enjoy some refreshment after a pleasant walk round this fabulous country park. It was good to see so many other couples and young families enjoying the great outdoors (whilst maintaining social distancing of course) and where better to come if you live within or near the vast National Forest area.

We were here with another family, 4 children age 6,10,11 and 12. Feel really safe for the children to walk ahead to explore, climb trees and the rocks while the grown ups followed behind. Car park is £1 for the day, coin only. Cafe and play area still not open. Toilets are open. There are picnic tables near the car park.

Lovely welcome by the staff and clear instructions on Covid guidelines given. Our afternoon tea was on the picnic bench outside which we expected as I'd read reviews before booking. Staff couldn't do enough for us, very attentive and more tea given etc. Sandwiches were fresh and variety including egg, tuna, ham and cheese with salad next to it. Selection of mini cakes like choc eclair and macaroons. Scone was ok with container of clotted cream and jam. The farm is small but nice little walk around after, lots of young or babies animals so cute. I'd recommend an hour outing x
