Lovely stay

Reviewed By Sarnia12345

We have just returned from two nights at this hotel and overall, had a lovely stay. The rooms were both very clean and comfortable and the wifi was excellent. We were unable to book a table for dinner as the restaurant was full on both nights we were there, so I cannot comment on the food. The staff were all super friendly. The only slight negative was that the air conditioning was broken in our room. The hotel provided us with a fan which was great but had the temperature outside been any higher, the room would have been uncomfortable. Hopefully the hotel will have this fixed in the near future.

Superb hotel and amazing staff

Would highly recommend the hotel - the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They even had pillow mist in the room and a rubber ducky for our son for bath time. We also are big fans of the breakfast!!

Rooms are ok, clean

Reviewed By radutravelagent

The rooms are good sized, clean. The staff are great and very polite. I found hair on my toilet seat. Probably was an accident, rest was super clean. The prices on the restaurant are just extremely high in comparison with what you get. £10 for a sandwich????? 5.50 for a pint of Guiness? Seriously ?! Do something about it, and probably I would stay again.

Stayed here for one evening due to attending a course with work. Room basic but clean & tidy. However the service in the bar restaurant was very poor. When I asked at the bar for a glass white wine, the bar tender looked in the cooler & told me they didn’t have any. I asked if they could look in the stock room. The bar tender replied “if there was any it would be in the cooler” I later saw others with bottles of white wine!! When deciding what to have for dinner ( menu choice was very limited) I enquired if I could exchange an item for salad, I was told No, so I payed extra for this. The steak, egg, chips cost £19 & definitely was not worth the money. However this could have been forgiven if the service was more accommodating. Will not stay here again ?

Smart new hotel in a good location

Reviewed By MrHandBaggageOnly

We stayed here for one night over the Easter Holidays. We had trouble finding the car parking, assuming it would be under or on top of the hotel. Clearly I wasn’t the first person to go into reception asking the question. In fairness to the hotel it is sign posted quite clearly, but only when you know where to look. The parking area is 1-2 minutes from the hotel, all open-air, large and flat. Great as long as it isn’t raining (which thankfully for us it wasn’t). Check-in was nice and simple, with loyalty noted. Our room was a very good size and at the back of the hotel, so lovely and quiet. The hotel was only completed around two years ago so everything still seems new. The television was very large and the sofa bed already made up for our daughter. The bathroom was decent and well laid out, although I was surprised to see that the designers had gone for a bath with shower overhead, not something you see that often in new mid-range hotels these days. The bar area was tastefully decorated and we enjoyed a drink there, before crossing over the road and heading in to town - Highcross Shopping Centre is next door, so you have very easy access to the cinema and plenty of places to eat. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We would be more than happy to stay here again.

Bad evening meal

Reviewed By lewisr801

Wasn’t impressed with the evening meals, nothing we asked for they had available, didn’t tell us till 40 minutes after we’d ordered, we was the only people in the restaurant too so no excuse to be behind. Ordered extra chips too and only came out with about 15 extra chips, I feel there is no communication with staff at all. I mean £3.49 for an extra 15 chips is ridiculous, do not recommend going for evening meal at all! Go elsewhere!
