Worth the visit and/or detour, nicely decorated museum that throws you back in time for decades! Even a few shops like electronics and cameras are a nice memory.

Loads of Celtic and Roman artifacts. I would say it is only second to the treasure trove in the Naples, Italy Archaeological Museum. There are Celtic items on display that were found in burial pots: arm and leg rings, belt buckles, weapons from 1300 B.C.!! You could easily spend three to four hours in here. Celtic warrior grave artifacts are here. Magnificent Roman tombs with elaborate artwork from the 1st and 2nd century AD are plentiful. Definitely pay for the audio guide, it is very informative. Many examples of 2,000-year-old Roman flooring in this excellent museum. Medusa, Oedipus, Amazon Women, chariot racers, boxers – just to name a few artwork pieces preserved over the past 2,000 years. Medieval Christian statues are plentiful as well. 8 € entrance fee for adults, 4€ for kids, believe me this place is worth it!!

This small museum in the beautiful former home of the richest inhabitants in the town at the time gives us a good taste of how life was in the Mosel in the ‘olden days’. At EUR 3 for the entrance fee it’s a bargain too!

Truly outstanding collection of Buddha’s. The passion and obsession of this collector is incredible and highlights the variety of Buddha’s created in the different countries of which we were not very aware of beforehand. Highly recommend this

Highly recommended! You can take the train to Cochem. The station is about ten minutes from the town centre. There is a tourist information and the shuttle bus leaves from one of the bus stands outside (just ask at the tourist information if you need help - they were really friendly). The bunker itself is a five minute drive away. The tour lasted about an hour. I did the German-language tour (and German is not my first language). Your German will need to be good if you do the German language tour as an explanation is needed. I believe there are also English-language tours as well. The only slight criticism is the group size. There were about 28 in my group and we didn't always fit in the same room as the guide which also made it a little difficult to catch everything that was being said. However, this was all in all a minor point and the passion and enthusiasm of the guide was clear and made this a really interesting tour. Cochem is a beautiful town and you could easily make a full-day trip here.

We found this place quite by accident, and it was such a treat! I would have been happy visiting just to see all the tools and equipment. There's such a beauty to it. The workshops are all intact. There are information sheets available in a variety of languages, but the signs for each of the bells are all in German. There's a video you can watch of the bells being made. While it is in German, it's fascinating enough on its own to be interesting even if you don't understand German. We were really pleased to have stopped by.
