Location, good service and Big breakfast

The place has a great location , maybe 2 minutes to the Kasbah. I had a garden facing room and heard no noise at night. Nice staff and helped with directions, money exchange, baggage, etc. Breakfast was huge but a lot of bakery item. Over hung the table with plates. Fried egg was good but the butter, jelly, olive oil, Goat cheese, olives, etc were to die for. Excellent.

wonderful place...amazing food and hospitality and breathtaking views

we visit Caiat refuge from Chefchaouan. Daniel picked us up from the parking of hotel Parador and drove us to his beautiful home in the mountains...once we were there, its felt like we were out of this world...so peaceful, so calm, fresh air, green mountains...beautiful cliffs...my kids were in love with this place...they immediately made friends with the dogs and the cat and were playing happily...the food was amazing and the people working there had the most kindest hearts and smiling faces. the rooms were beautiful and cozy..we had enough supply of wood to keep us warm through the night. the toilets were outside the room but it was not a problem...next day we walked up the mountains in akchour valley...we were with four kids age between 3-9 and some of the parts were impossible for us to hike..Mohammed our guide, understood our situation and instead of abandoning the hike, he took us back and went to the river through an easy trek. it was a beautiful relaxing day....i would go back there anytime...if i could afford it..as it was expensive for our budget :-).

Riad Dari

Treated like family..

Reviewed By DanielD525

The customer care is the top feature that sets this riad apart from its other strengths. Ali is the front man who looked after us from the word go, and made our stay an absolute pleasure. Ali wasn't alone, as the female kitchen/housekeeping staff were always there to offer help with smiles on their faces. Location is excellent being in the hub of Tetouan, and the riad was kind enough in emailing us best directions which was a bit tricky for first timers. Though after your first day, navigation should become more easier without having to look at your phone or ask anyone. Taxi must drop you at Bab Al Okla which is around 3 minute walk through the tight Medina walkways to the accommodation. Our room was on the ground floor directly opposite reception, but we had no issues with any noise. We did have a problem with our shower flooding with a plastic item which seemed to purposely block any water escaping through the drain. We must stress this was at no fault of the riad or any staff, but supposedly of the previous guest beforehand looking to pull a nasty stroke for whatever reason. The problem was solved with staff cleaning the room and making it perfect again, but I must repeat this incident was not down to the staff. The room was a touch on the small side as traditionally can be, but very clean with adequate lighting and daily fresh towels. We had dinner here at a very generous discount, and on display was the feast from heaven. Veg tagine with all the usual side dishes that was beautifully presented, so vast, extremely delicious and a captivating moment during our stay. The terrace on the top floor is also a great feature to get more of an birdseye view of the white dove with mountains overlooking. The terrace has both an outdoor section and sheltered section in case of rain. Some of the main attractions like the archeological museum and royal palace are about 10 minus walk away. Admire some of the unique wall paintings with are situated nearby Riad Dari with lots of cats also in attendance. Area is very safe and people are happy to help if you have a question. Great stay and wonderful hospitality, so a big thank you to Ali and the rest of the team..

The farmhouse look to be in Italy

Reviewed By Nicolò L

Check-in 07/03 check-out 09/03 Hotel: 30 minutes walk from the CTM bus station, do not recommend to reach the structure on foot because it is really heavy and the walk with luggage is not recommended. Outside the bus station you will find the taxis that will take you wherever you want. The hotel is a typical farmhouse located in the mountains (not in the "center ville" and outside the Medina). The host only speaks Spanish, not English. If you want to stop for dinner, make it present a lot of hours before. In the evening the hotel street is not lit and you will find yourself walking in the dark deeper, hoping for the full moon! As a recommendation on where to dine the host provided us with a fast-food brochure (?????) Panoramic terrace and very beautiful outdoor areas surrounded by greenery. Outside pool. Almost complete absence of staff. They do not accept payment cards. Cash only. Room: I stayed in the first floor room (room 101) with a non-panoramic balcony, low connection WI-FI signal. Very cold room, they supplied two electric heaters. The first night the hot water wasn’t working, the next day we had no more problems (the hotel has the electric boiler for the water). Big room with a double bed and a single bed, clean with a small bathroom but with all the essentials, except phone, shampoo and bath soap. Very uncomfortable sink. I left at 6 o'clock in the morning and they did find the breakfast ready and booked a taxi to the CTM bus station. Breakfast: Normal breakfast, Moroccan bread, strawberry jam, butter, olives, goat cheese, juice coffee or tea. Taxi: from the hotel to the city center cost you 20 Dirham (10 minutes).

Magical stay at Dar Aldea in the Blue City

Reviewed By tammyo802

My Family & I stayed at Dar Aldea in Chefchaouen, Morocco for 4 nights recently. The city is so beautiful, so many unique shops & restaurants, live music everyday in the main square & so many kind & friendly people. The landscape, mountains, hiking, historic landmarks & view down to the city (especially at sunset) is breathtaking! Staying at Dar Aldea was like staying with family. The host caretakers, Amina & her family live in the house & are there for you whatever you need. They also give you privacy, if that is what you want. Amina made us a homemade fabulous breakfast everyday, she even washed our clothes for us & hung to dry while we were out. Their children are sweet & her husband gave us info on where to go & see. He hiked with us up the mountain to see the sunset too. This is a great place to stay with your family. The bedrooms look like fairy tale rooms, so decorative & very cozy, with comfortable beds. The whole house is visually stunning, very clean, colorful, magical with Moroccan style of fantastic tile work & beautiful intricate painting designs. The roof top patio is like a dream. Comfortable, beautiful sofas & tables. Lots of places to lay down or sit in the sun or shade area too & look at the amazing view down on to the city. You can even hear the live music down in the plaza square from up on the patio rooftop. There is a washing machine up there & lines to hang to dry in the warm sun. Everything is within walking distance from Dar Aldea & the people of Chefchaoun are so helpful & friendly. Many people speak Spanish & English, as well as Darija, Arabic, French, Berber & more. The food, local sweets, breads & amazing fresh fruit juices are wonderful! The beautiful blue stairs going up to Dar Aldea are famous & the most 'Instagramed' in the world. It's fun seeing people all day waiting to take their photos on these stairs. The only thing I would say that would be difficult for some people is there are alot of stairs going up to this house.. but I got more in shape on this trip from all the walking, so it got easier everyday. I really recommend Dar Aldea & Chefchaouen! It was my dream to visit there & it was even more than I dreamed!

Great!!

A very quiet and cozy Maison, with a dedicated service, where we got all we needed for the last part of our trip. Its owner, Mr. Kamal, was the perfect host, worried, since we arrived, about bringing us the best of comforts. He is, also, a wonderful tea-maker, and he knows Chefchaouen very well, so you may trust his informations about the blue city (but also about the rest of Morocco). We liked it a lot.

Appalling, lying and racist - worst experience of my life

Reviewed By KismetCA

There were a myriad of problems: #1 - the staff was unbelievably unprofessional, lacking in the minimum of social graces. He should be fired, and I've never said this about anyone until now. He was unsuited to work in the service industry. There was never a "welcome", "thank you" "please" or "sorry" The only acceptable reason for this staff's behaviour would have been mental illness or incapacity, and I do not believe that was the case. The staff member is racist. #2 - We did not receive what we reserved. There was no apology or explanation. This was unacceptable. #3 - Staff did not accept credit cards, demanded payment in EUROS and gave change in Dirham. This was super sketchy, we did not receive a receipt. #4 - Wifi was promised, guaranteed in the reservation and unavailable. I would have left and chosen another hotel had I known #5 - This was the most uncomfortable hotel I've stayed at it in my life, my husband developed back pain from these uncomfortable beds that has lingered ever since. He did not have this back pain before. #6 - there were bugs, though this was the least of our complaints. We felt ripped off, manipulated, and we left Morocco immediately after this experience. It affected how we felt about the Kingdom of Morocco, the service industry in Morocco and marred some of the positive experiences we had elsewhere.
