Reviewed By Priyank_chhabraI booked my stay directly through Fab Hotel's website and got a very good deal compared to other booking platforms. Also, the Hotel management was kind enough to upgrade my room from double bed to family room at no extra cost (It was a blessing for us as we were three people staying in that room). The hotel is very conveniently located at just across the road from the Amritsar Railway station. There are large number of good restaurants in the vicinity. Transport to any location in Amritsar is easily available at the doorstep of the hotel as it is placed on a busy road. Rooms were quite big. Beds and linen were very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious with modern fittings. Toilet and basin were crystal clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a delightful stay for us.

The ambiance and charm of a bygone age
Reviewed By TravellingRavI rarely write reviews. In fact, before this, I have only written one other review after a memorable stay at The Leela Palace in Udaipur. But the four nights my wife and I spent at the Dak Bungalow in Dera Bassi eclipsed that experience. As such, I had to write this review to inform fellow travelers with similar tastes. But also in appreciation of my excellent hosts. The Dak Bungalow is off the beaten track in a rural area. You enter the compound and discover a manicured lawn filled with numerous shade-giving trees. A gazebo, a veranda, a dining room on the grounds, and tables and chairs dotted here and there all make the setting even more inviting and ideal for enjoying the scenery. There's also a path that leads to a pavilion in the woods, land given over to agriculture, and a kitchen garden that guarantees many of the ingredients that go into the meals served at the Dak Bungalow are freshly grown on-site. The décor is colonial. But, unlike many establishments that shoot for the same, there is an authenticity about how everything looks and feels. Perhaps it is the attention to detail. Maybe it's something to do with going for the tasteful, understated choices rather than opting for vulgar extravagance. In either case, it just works and feels so authentic that it's a bit like stepping back in time. The icing on the cake is the hosts, Param and Preeti, and the excellent team who help them run the place. From the moment we got there, even while we were still on route to the establishment, they were anticipating our every need. Whether it was making sure our rooms were warmed before our arrival or taking care of our dogs without us even needing to ask them to do so after we got delayed in town. Looking back, I can't recall suffering the frustration of wondering why something we had requested was taking a long time - a problem I am routinely subjected to at so many other establishments. As for the food they serve, all the reviews that single out the cuisine at the Dak Bungalow for praise are not exaggerating. The multi-course meals served up by Preeti and her chef are accomplished, tasty, and quite obviously made with genuine love and pride. I'm not a foody, but even I found myself looking forward to mealtimes. But perhaps what I appreciated the most was how Param and Preeti are just so welcoming and friendly. They would take the time to happily sit with us on the veranda in the evenings, chatting away with us by the fire, with Param often regaling us with stories from his store of experiences after a lifetime in India. Think of the kind, engaging, and friendly hosts who only ever seem to exist in fictional stories, only this time they exist in real life. Put all these elements together, and it's easy to understand why my wife and I found the Dak Bungalow to be an ideal place to escape the city, a place to unwind, be looked after, and enjoy the ambiance and charm of a bygone age. If you search for the same, I can recommend the Dak Bungalow without any reservation. We look forward to returning soon.

Budget hotel
Reviewed By Prakash_J_01Budget place, you get what you pay for, good value for money. Restaurant is strictly ok. Helpful staff. It's on the outskirts of town, but Patiala is a small town anyway, it took us less than 20 minutes to get to where wanted to go.

Reviewed By mani1083Its very near to the Railway station , Gurdwara also near to this place. It is surrounding by the green fields. Very spacious. Rooms are nice. I stayed 2 days here and it was a pleasant time spent. Keep it up.
