Waldshut-Tiengen is a city in southwestern Baden-Württemberg right at the Swiss border. It is the district seat and at the same time the biggest city in Waldshut district and a "middle centre" in the area of the "high centre" Lörrach/Weil am Rhein to whose middle area most towns and communities in Waldshut district belong (with the exception of seven communities that belong to Bad Säckingen's area). There are furthermore complexities arising from cross-border traffic between this area and the Swiss cantons of Aargau, Schaffhausen and Zürich. This classification relates to Walter Christaller's Central Place Theory, however, and not to any official administrative scheme.

Im Internet entdeckt, besuchten wir neugierig das Matrix. Unser Ziel war es in den Genuss einer Shisha zu kommen. Etwas versteckt in der Nähe des E-Centers/ Casino befindet sich die grosse Location. Vor Ort hat es genügend Parkplätze. Mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel empfehle ich nicht anzureisen. Das Matrix ist in Restaurant, Billiard-Center und Shishabar aufgeteilt. Das Essen sah wirklich lecker aus und ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen, das es gut ist, da sehr viele Leute im Restaurant assen. Das grosse und schön eingerichtete Billiard-Center hat ca. 6-8 Tische. Im unteren Bereich des Hauses befindet sich die Shishabar. Unser eigentliches Ziel. Sie bietet genügend Platz und ist sehr gut aufgeteilt. Einerseits hat es Plätze für 3-4 Personen und andererseits auch coole grosse Lounges. Die Shisha wurde nach unserem Geschmack sehr lecker zubereitet. Das Personal ist äusserst freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam. Wir kommen wieder, denn es ist eine super Location! Vielen Dank und liebe Grüsse nach Tiengen!

Had some pasta for dinner - which was not spectacular. The sauce had extremly little veal in it. And the advertised porcini mushrooms were normal brown mushrooms.Dessert was very good - would go back just for that.Service was quick and attentive.

If you are looking for a quick lunch while in Waldshut-Tiengen for shopping for example, this might be a place to go.Do not expect complicated, refined meals but traditional pizzeria food.Pizza, pasta e basta!The service is quite fast and efficient, the prices are really correct and the food is good.

We just went there looking for a dinner at Friday evening. Very pleasantly surprised! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pizza tasted good, not like 'Italian pizza made in Europa for European taste with huge amout of cheese'. All was well balanced.The size of pizza... Only one option - big :) I was glad to take half of it for my breakfast :)

We are repeat guest at the Osteria which serves the best Food in town. Consistent high quality - and in combination with the Gelatteria below an unbeatable offering when it comes to desserts. Typically, a salad easily feeds two. Their home-made pasta are world class and if you order their vino di casa you get a very decent wine at a very reasonable price. At times, service can be sluggish. And do not forget to book in advance, particularly on weekends.

The restaurant has a classy ambience with white table cloth. They have a range of Italian dishes and we tried the pasta. Service was good. It is located a couple of hundred of meters from Tiengen walking street. They have parking just outside the building.

Back to that place after a few months and I'm positively surprised that my previous review is still actual!We have tested this time the Rumpsteack and the beef filet. Both were excellent and well presented!Service is fast and efficient.

The Neapolitan style pizza in this restaurant is really good. I had a Margherita and the mozzarella was real (not just a "pizza cheese"), the tomato sauce really tasty and on top some generous amount of fresh and perfumed basil leaves!The other pizzas also looked very good.We had also tortellini panna e prosciutto for one of my daughter and chicken nuggets for the other daughter, then two bottles of water, two beers, 1 tiramisu, 1 lemon sorbettp, two ice creams for the kids and two espressi. Total bill: 71 EUR. Not bad, isn't it?A speciality: at the end of the meal, they bring you a small bottle with home made limoncello for free. It is enough for some 4 small liqueur glasses!
