Very central hotel, ideal if you were staying in Clon and wanted to walk around the town. We both had the chowder to start with, it was packed with plenty of fish, the consistency was nice & creamy, served with brown bread. For main I went for the fish & chips, my other half had the burger, both dishes were cooked just right and very good. This is a nice restaurant, reasonable priced with friendly staff and good food.Dear constantlylauraThank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback Im delighted that you enjoyed the meal and that the team took good care of you. This was nice to go to and sit and have a drink passing through in the afternoon. The regulars and the bar men were very nice and there was good chat at the bar itself. (There were some tourists of the 'gee-whizz' loud type from further west in this hemisphere who made it difficult to hear people sitting beside you but that is a hazard of these nice towns. But how kind of them to share their most intimate details with us.)

Richys has been our first choice in Clon for years. Our recent experience was terrible. Senior staff member spent the evening with friends. Two new staff clueless. On arrival showed to our table and requested water. Ten minutes later after 2 reminders water arrived. Bread delivered to table but no plates . After 40 minutes the starters arrived. 30 seconds later the same waitress delivered our main courses. Steak which was the best dish was overcooked but nice. Pizza was undercooked. Other main courses were just tasteless. Very very disappointed. Hi Martlovestrav,Thank you for taking time to post this review, can you kindly email use with the dates you were in so we can investigate further, [email protected],It seems like our team were not performing to there usual standards.I would like invite you back and have dinner with us once I can look back at the night in question.best regards richy

My Husband tried here for a cuppa first, and came home raving it. Knew it was in town, but had never gone there. The two of us popped in for a snack subsequently, and it was delicious beyond expectations. We both had bruchetta . Amazingly fresh. Tomatoes were so tasty, and appeared just prepared. The staff are so lovely. A beautiful young girl, so pleasant and friendly with a wonderful demeanour. Will now be a regular spot for us.Don't pass it by, pop in and see for yourself. We really enjoyed. Many thanks for your glowing review. Yes we prepare all the food at the time of ordering. On occasion it may take a little time but the food is guaranteed freshly prepared. We work as a team so the staff love their job, and it shows. Thanks for taking the time to review Molly's Café and Wine bar. We hope to see you again soon. Dena O'Donovan proprietor.

Deasy's Pub & Fish Restaurant

Reviewed By David M

There is not much more I can say about Deasy's from the last review I did in the Summer of 2018. We visited twice for dinner over the 5 days we were in Clonakilty a few weeks ago. It delivers a very intimate style service which when added to the excellent food from the kitchen, makes you want to come back many times. I will not single out any dish (some change every night) but you must try the Asian soup and the fish special (I had hake one night and salmon the second) is usually superb. All food is very fresh with virtually everything sourced locallyThe restaurant is difficult to access and parking is very restricted (although why would you drive unless you don't want to try some of the great wines and alcohol choices available to accompany the super food) !!! Booking is essential - particularly during the Summer. Also the restaurant/put is only open 4 nights a week. So if you are in the area do visit Deasy's. It is MILES ahead of anything else that is available in Clonakilty (and surrounds) - Sugan being a far away second.

This is a lovely bar. The service is excellent and the food sublime. The menu is based on local ingredients. The seafood chowder is a particular favourite of my daughter and it’s more like a meal as it’s full of fish. My favourite is the chicken, pesto and sundried tomato sandwich on granary bread. They also have a nice wine list. This place is always full but the service is so good they will always accommodate youHi Sharon,Thank you so much for your excellent rating and very kind review. We enjoyed amazing food served with panache by staff who obviously enjoy their work!!! Well done. The early bird is fab value... only downside.... it’s a very high ceilinged venue which leads to it being noisy. I visited Mountain House, Ardfield today. From the first glance it looked like your avarage gastropub, but it was anything but! I heard before that food is nice in here but when my plate arrived, my expectations were exceeded. Not only it looked like it came straight from some posh restaurant kitchen, it tasted heavenly. Scallops were cooked to perfection, and prawns with mango salsa... I am struggling to find words to describe that perfection. I was planning my next visit before even finishing my meal. I wish I could rate my visit today more then 5 stars. Simply amazing
